24th Semi-Annual Ticonderoga Challenge

Welcome to the 24th (but who's counting?) Ticonderoga Challenge Outdoor Epee Tournament. The senior mixed event is open to all fencers born 2008 or earlier, while the youth event is for fencers born 2009 or later. If time and the weather allows, the best 8 female fencers from the open event will fence off for a women's award. Covid safety measures: -Entire event will take place on the Kings Garden lawns (i.e. no finals in the more crowded parade ground this year) -As per Green Mt Division policy, all competitors must be fully vaccinated against covid-19 (medical exemptions considered with doctor's note). -The decision as to whether to require face masks will be made closer to the event, depending on covid rates locally and in the greater region. We would love to make this a masks-optional event, given that it is outdoors, but can not guarantee this will be the case. If you sign up, you should be willing to wear a face mask if requested by the tournament organizers. Please register by May 23, to secure your place in this tournament and receive an admission pass to the Fort. Entry fee is $15, payable at the event (so we don't have to return money if it is rained out). Rain date is Sunday May 29. You will receive more information via email from AskFRED as the tournament approaches, including weather updates. As per US Fencing policy, ratings can not be awarded for outdoor tournaments. We expect all competitors to hold at least a noncompetitive membership in US Fencing (however, full competitive membership is not enforced for this). You will be asked to sign a waiver agreeing to participate entirely at your own risk, including risk of injury from fencing on slippery outdoor (grass) surfaces, as well as risk of contracting covid-19.
