FRED Announces the WWD Junior/Cadet/Youth Tournament The ever-growing number of young fencers in the division should makethis an exciting and challenging event. And, with the new rules ineffect, fencers can earn ratings at this event! ------------------ Important Info: ------------------- Tournament: WWD Junior/Cadet/Youth Tournament Date(s): 03/29/2003 - 03/30/2003 Location: Rain City Fencing Center For complete details, see: www.wwdfencing.org/event.htm Saturday 3/29/03 ---------------------- 9:00 am -- Doors Open 9:30 am -- Cadet Mixed Foil 12 noon -- Youth-8 Mixed Foil & Youth-10 Mixed Foil 2:30 pm -- Junior Mixed Foil Sunday 3/30/03 -------------------- 9:00 am -- Doors Open 9:30 am -- Youth-12 Mixed Foil & Junior Mixed Epee 12 noon -- Youth-14 Mixed Saber & Junior Mixed Saber 2:30 pm -- Youth-14 Mixed Foil All times are close of registration. Events may be combined depending on the number of fencers competing. Events that close atthe same time may not necessarily be fenced simultaneously. Registration fee is $5 plus $10 dollars per evententered. Tournament fees can be paid in cash or check made out to USFA/WWD. A $5 late fee will be charged if you do not pre-register by 10pm on Friday, March 28th. There is no penalty for pre-registeringand not showing up. Proof of USFA membership (or equivalent) will be required of all participants at check-in. Please bring your current USFA membershipcard. You may join or renew your USFA membership at the door. All weapons will be scored electrically. We will inspect and mark masks, lames, and body cords. Full USFA regulation uniform is required, including plastron, knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. Age Eligibility ---------------- Youth-8 -- Born 1994 or later Youth-10 -- Born 1992 or later Youth-12 -- Born 1990 or later Youth-14 -- Born 1988 or later Cadet -- Born 1986 or later Junior -- Born 1983 or later Please arrive early to allow time for equipment checks. You can have your equipment checked prior to the tournament on Friday, March28th at Rain City Fencing Center between 4 and 7 pm. Call for Directors --------------------- The WWD is looking for qualified directors to assist in directing pools and DE bouts. If you can volunteer on one or both days, youwill be paid a 40 dollar per diem and get a free lunch!
