The Colonel Melee

Ledyard Fencing Club is proud to host The Colonel Melee on Saturday, April 13th, 2024.

Here's everything you need to know:

Event Details:

Time: Our Venue will be open to the public at 8 AM

Venue: Ledyard Highschool, 24 Gallup Hill Road Ledyard CT, 06339

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, April 10

Weapon Categories: Epee, Foil and Saber

Concessions: We will have concessions available!

Registration: This will be a Senior E and Under event capped at 28 fencers per event. Please note that you must be born 2010 or earlier in order to be eligible. To secure your spot in the tournament, please register online before the deadline. We will accept walk-ins if there are open spots, you will be charged extra if you do not register ahead of time on askFred.

We are not yet setup to take payments through AskFred, however pre-payment is GREATLY appreciated, and it will reserve your spot for the event.

In order to pre-pay, please click the "Message the Organizer" link and send us an email specifying the fencer's name, email address, and which events you would like to pre-pay for, and we will email you a link to pay online. The cost is $35 per event, plus a 2.95% service fee.

Entry Fees

• Regular Entry: $35 per event
• Walk-In Entry: $50 per event

Please note that we request payments at the door (card, cash and check accepted) and there will be NO REFUNDS will be given within 14 days of the event.

Format: The tournament will follow a standard format, ensuring a fair and exciting competition for all participants. This means, 1 round of pools with 100% Promotion, and following this will be D.E. Rounds. Please familiarize yourself with the rules and guidelines to make the most of your tournament experience.

Schedule:

Check-In: Please check in before the scheduled event time. The event time is when we plan to start pools, not when we plan to start checking you in.

AT 12 PM:

Senior Men’s Foil E and Under

Senior Women’s Epee E and Under

At 3 PM:

Senior Men’s Saber E and Under

Senior Women’s Saber E and Under

***The schedule is subject to change, and updates will be communicated to participants as needed. We will mix an event if there are less than 6 people signed up in a weapon.

Awards: The top 3 (4) individuals in each event will

be awarded medals. We will NOT be fencing off for third place.

Spectators: Family, friends, and fencing enthusiasts are welcome to attend and cheer for their favorite athletes. A designated viewing area will be provided for spectators. We will have concessions available for everyone.
