FRED Announces the WWD Pat Muir Memorial Division Championships Dates: 6/5/2004 - 6/6/2004 Location: Salle Auriol Seattle This is the final open WWD tournament of the season. Men's and women's events will be fenced separately in all weapons. Fencers that compete in all three weapons are eligible to win the men's or women's 3-weapon trophy based on their combined results. This event is only open to current members of the USFA Western Washington Division. All members will earn points toward the WWD points list based on their placement in each event. The WWD will hold its annual membership meeting at noon on Saturday (see below for more information). For complete info, see: www.wwdfencing.org/Events/srchamps.htm ------------------ Schedule ------------------- Saturday 6/5/04: 9:30 am -- Doors open 10:00 am -- Men's Foil Noon -- Women's Epee AND WWD Membership Meeting 2:00 pm -- Women's Saber Sunday 6/6/04: 9:30 am -- Doors open 10:00 am -- Men's Epee Noon -- Women's Foil 2:00 pm -- Men's Saber All times are close of registration. ------------------ Registration Info ------------------ Registration fee is $10 plus $10 per event entered. Tournament fees can be paid in cash or check (US$ only) made out to USFA/WWD. There is no penalty for pre-registering and not showing up. ------------------ Tournament Rules ------------------ All competitors must be competitive members of the USFA Western Washington Division (no "Fence for Fun") Proof of USFA membership will be required of all participants at check-in. Please bring your current USFA membership card. You may join or renew your USFA membership at the door. Full USFA regulation uniform is required, including plastron, knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. ------------------ Equipment Check ------------------ All weapons will be scored electrically. We will inspect and mark masks, lames, and body cords. You can also get your equipment checked prior to the event at the following times: - Thursday, 6/3 at Rain City Fencing Center from 7:30 - 9pm - Friday, 6/4 at Salle Auriol Seattle from 8 - 9pm ------------------ Call for Directors ------------------ The WWD is looking for qualified directors to assist in directing pools and DE bouts. If you can volunteer on one or both days, you will be paid a $40 per diem and get a free lunch! Fencers participating in the event that help direct after they are done fencing are eligible for a $20 per diem. All WWD members are encouraged to attend. Included on the agenda will be the election of next season's WWD Executive Committee and the selection of USFA Congress attendees.
