2018 Western Open

Date: November 10, 2018 Location: Thames Hall, Western University 40 Lambton Dr, London, ON N6G 2V4 SCHEDULE Senior Men's Foil - 9AM Senior Women's Epee - 9AM Senior Men's Epee - 11:30AM Senior Women's Foil - 12:30PM Senior Women's Sabre - 2:30PM Senior Men's Sabre - 2:30PM Events start approximately 30 min after close of registration FEES $50 per event if registered on or before November 8, 2018 $75 per event at the door *All fees to be paid at the door (CASH ONLY) COMPETITION FORMAT One round of pools with 100% promotion to direct elimination tableau. Medals will be awarded to the top 4 finishers in each event. GENERAL INFORMATION The 2018 Western Open is sanctioned by the Ontario Fencing Association and the Canadian Fencing Federation. This event is worth CFF Domestic Points. This competition will be run according to current FIE regulations. The Directoire Technique reserves the right to apply or modify these regulations as they see fit as according to section t.15 of the FIE Rules. ALL participants are required to have an active CFF Fencing License or an equivalent license from the participant's home institute. You may purchase/renew your license via the Canadian Fencing Federation website: https://www.fencing.ca/content/membership-registration. Please be ready to show your purchase receipt and CFF license number at registration to confirm License Validation. USFA members must show a valid USFA membership card. Please enter your USFA membership number in the "CFF License" field. All fencers are REQUIRED to wear a sous plastron as well as fencing pants with long socks so that the legs are fully protected. Track pants will not be permitted as substitutions for fencing pants. All foil fencers are REQUIRED to have a conductive foil bib. Participants that enter in multiple events may be required to fence multiple bouts without breaks. Should conflicts arise, participants may be asked to withdraw from an event.
