The Philadelphia Division will have point events where competitors in each weapon can earn points based on their finish at each event. Points accumulate throughout the season, and the person with the most points wins a nice trophy. All events are officially sanctioned by the Philadelphia Division of the USFA. USFA rules followed. Professional Referees! Philly Division MEDALS awarded to top 4 in the Open Sabre (individual) event and top 4 teams in the Team Sabre event (1 medal per team member). For Youth events with 10 or more competitors, a TROPHY is awarded to first place and MEDALS for 2nd and both 3rd place finishers. Philly Division RIBBONS awarded to top 8 in all Youth Sabre events regardless of # of competitors. Events Scheduled: Open Mixed Sabre (for fencers born 2001 or EARLIER) -Check-in closes at 3:00 PM Open Women's Sabre (for fencers born 2001 or EARLIER) -Check-in closes at 12:45 PM Y10 Mixed Sabre -Check-in closes at 11:00 AM Y12 Mixed Sabre -Check-in closes at 12:45 PM Y14 Mixed Sabre -Check-in closes at 11:15 AM TEAM Sabre (for fencers born 2001 or EARLIER) -Check-in closes at 4:45 PM (event begins after Open Mixed Sabre is complete) Note on combined age youth events: The Philadelphia Division no longer allows combined age youth events (such as Y10/Y12 or Y12/Y14), despite the fact that they are relatively popular and sometimes necessary for certain events to even happen because of numbers and apparently happen all over the country. Liberty wants to continue providing these opportunities for youth fencers, but the Division will not allow the events. Therefore unless that policy changes, the youth events will all be separate by age (Y10, Y12, and Y14).
