A developmental event for Riverside members and invited guests only. Limited to 15 registrants.

Overview

This is an unsanctioned/developmental tournament. We will bend some of the conventions of typical tournament formats in order to allow more fencing in a shorter period of time. The prizes (stickers) are hardly worth anything, so this is all about the experience, which we hope will be exciting and fun for all.


Eligibility

  1. Senior Division 3: Age 13+ and have a "D" or lower USA Fencing rating.
  2. This tournament is limited to Riverside Fencing Club fencer and invited guests. Uninvited registrants will be removed.


Tournament Format

Tournament format is subject to change. Below is our expected format.

  1. One round of pools, using a "super pool" format: we'll multi-strip the pool(s) and fence as many bouts concurrently as possible. 100% promoted to Direct Elimination. Due to this expected format, tournament size limitations are limited.
  2. DE rounds of 16 and 8: 10-touch bouts
  3. DE rounds semi-finals and finals:15-touch bouts.
  4. Mixed event may be split into separate M/W events *IF* there are at least 7 fencers in each event AND there is general agreement among the participants to do so.


Fees

  1. $20.00 per fencer. Cash or check at the door, please.
  2. Fees are waived for Riverside Fencing Club members currently enrolled in classes.


Prizes

  1. Stickers, awarded to the top 4 finishers.
