Pre-Nationals Sabre Tournament

FRED Announces the Pre-Nationals Sabre Tournament Fencers must be competitive members of the USFA or the first tournament for a non-competitive USFA member. If there are not enough teams entered, we will allow the teams to fence a mixed event. If there are fewer than 6 teams entered, we will cancel the team event. However, we will allow men's and women's teams to fence each other to make up the 6 in the event. If we do not have a COVID file on file for you, you will need to complete one. If you have any symptoms of COVID or flu, please stay home. Everyone on the fencing floor must wear a COVID mask at all times, including while fencing. These are USA Fencing requirements. If you have had two COVID immunizations, and it has been at least 2 weeks since your second injection, you do not have to wear a COVID mask in areas other than the fencing floor (kitchen, lounge, etc.). Individual events will be one round of pools with 100% advanced to direct eliminations. Team events will be fenced using USA Fencing protocols. Teams must have 3 or 4 fencers. Teams with 4 fencers will designate one fencer per round as the alternate. Alternates may be substituted in one time. The fencer whose place the alternate took may return to their original spot during the same match. Team members do not have to be from the same club. If you are interested in fencing teams, but do not have enough to create a team, contact us and we will attempt to place you with other fencers.
