NJFA Regional Youth Circuit (Y8-Y14)

This is the fifth event in the 2007-08 NJFA Youth Cup Series. All youth events held at NJFA from September 2007 through June 2008 are eligible for Youth Cup series prizes. Points will be awarded for first 5 places in each event (there is no fence-off for third at this RYC so third place points will be awarded to both fencers). Cup points are cumulative and prizes will be awarded to top 3 point finishers in each event at the last tournament of the series. See current Cup standings at fencing.net (tournaments section. This RYC fulfills the qualifying path for Y10/12 fencers wishing to compete at the April Y10/12 NAC or Summer Nationals. Attending a RYC will qualify that individual in the respective event and age category fenced. Ratings can be awarded, however youth events do not use the E1 or D1 classifications; these events are NR until they reach C1 level or higher. FEES Preregistered - $20 registration fee/$15 per event. A signed waiver is required. Please download the attached waiver and present at check-in. You must have valid USFA membership - you MUST show your USFA card or have proof that payment has been made. You may join at the door, however please arrive with a completed form (download at usfencing.org)or plan to come early to complete the necessary paperwork. Parent signature required. Please have separate checks made out to USFA or use your credit card for USFA payment. Non-USA fencers must show either current USFA membership, current FIE license, or current CFF membership. Full USFA uniform is required, including mask, jacket, plastron, fencing knickers, knee-length socks, lame, and glove. All fencers must wear required fencing attire and MUST bring at least 2 working weapons and 2 working body cords. NOTE: If you are fencing in a Y10 event - you must have a #2 or #0 blade (i.e. less than 32.5 inches long). ============================================================================================ TOURNAMENT FORMAT Gender-separate events, events with less than 6 fencers may be mixed. One round of pools with 100% promotion to Direct Elimination rounds. Seeding will be based on National Rolling Point Standing, then classification/year, then randomly for those with neither points or classification. Medals awarded out to 3rd place. The "Moppetto" Y8 event will be one or two rounds of pools, no direct elimination.
