Got Vaccine? Open Mixed Foil (unsanctioned)

This is our first competition after the long break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to celebrate (our hope for) the return to normalcy with this friendly event for the Western New York fencers. In spite of the name of the competition, the participants will not be asked about their vaccination status. However we realistically expect the majority of our adult participants to be vaccinated by the date. We have a strong confidence in the reliability of our safety protocol: Face masks are to be worn at all times, maximal possible social distancing is to be maintained, all the common use equipment (like a floor reel connector) is to be disinfected after each use. No shaking hands, sorry! Why non-USFA sanctioned? Many fencers did not get the competitive membership for this season (and reasonably so!) Still a minimum of a non-competitive membership is required to participate for the insurance purposes. The regular USFA format for individual competitions will be used. Our beautiful custom medals will be awarded to the top four finishers. A bottle of a very special wine will be given to the winner. (Fencers under 21 should have a designated 21+ recipient for this prize if they win.) Venue: Ludus Fencing Studio, 25 Arcampus Drive, Rochester, NY 14612 Close of registration at 11am.
