Practice Tournament for Youth Athletes to develop skills in a learning environment! Athletes are walked through each step of competition to build confidence & prepare for larger, sanctioned events.

Why A Developmental Tournament? 

  1. Each round is described to fencers & parents before it begins; The Pool Sheets and DE Brackets are made visible for all to follow and learn! 
  2. Seasoned Fencers will be available to assist Developing Athletes with equipment issues and to guide them through the rules & steps of competition. 
  3. Fencers can learn to compete & refine skills in an environment with low stakes, building confidence to bring to a bigger stage! 


For Athletes:

  1. Arrive 30-60 minutes before Registration Closes & your Event Begins! This will allow for ample time to check-in and warm-up. 
  2. Bring a snack and plenty of water. 
  3. Full Uniform is Required- We can provide anything you don’t have already! 


Tournament Information:

  1. Events with 4 or fewer registrations will be mixed to provide maximum value to participating athletes- Keep an eye out for updates as event dates approach! 
  2. Events will consist of Two Rounds- Pools & Direct Elimination. Pools will sometimes be double-stripped for maximum efficiency. A fence-off for third will sometimes take place to provide more bouting opportunity.

Y14 Epee (Born 2010-2013): 8:00am Start

Y10 Epee (Born 2014-2017): 10:30am Start

Y12 Epee (Born 2012-2015): 1:00pm Start


Billing:

$50 per Event

  1. For RFA / PHX Members: Billed automatically via ZenPlanner
  2. For Non-Members: Pay-on-Site; Bring cash for a faster payment process!
