Note This is a Old AskFRED event. Registrations and results are all correct, but some other data could be missing.
This is the second annual Memorial Team Tournament! With the great response last year we have added a cap of 10 teams. Register soon to secure your spot! This year’s weapon will be epee. The Charity: American Cancer Society (Lincoln Chapter) The Scholarship: In recognition of those dear to LFC who have passed, we have created the Lincoln Fencing Club Memorial Scholarship. The Tournament: This is not a sanctioned event, but will follow USFA rules and format including equipment checks (mask checks, weapons checked on strip). Fees: The registration fee is $25 per entrant ($75 per team or $100 per team if you wish to have an alternate). BUT because this tournament is raising money for two great causes, put on your giving shoes and get out there to raise donations! You can ask anyone: friends, family, coworkers, etc. Registration fees will be used to fund our Memorial Scholarship. All money raised by teams in excess of registration fees will be donated to the selected charity. The more you raise the more we can donate! This year, for every $10 your team raises in donations you will get one point to use at any stopped time during any of your bouts. The more you raise the more points you will have to use! For example: If your team raises $100 in donations you will get 10 points. You can use all 10 in your first bout and start 10 points up, or you can use them across any bouts you may have. Entrants: If you would like to fence, but do not have a team please email or tell Khalisha, or come to club on Sunday and we will make sure you are put on a team. Families and friends who do not have a US Fencing membership are welcome to fence. We would love to have you! No experience necessary! This is a start-of-year tournament to raise money for our causes, have some fun, and help our competitive fencers get into tournament mode. We do ask that only one coach is on a team.
