Join Us for the Texas Fencing Academy Cup Series!

Continuing our club tournament series with the Texas Fencing Academy Cup 2. We hope to see you there!

Tournament Series: Texas Fencing Academy will be hosting 4 tournaments throughout the upcoming season. Special rewards will be awarded at the final tournament for fencers who participate in all 4 club tournaments.

Tournament Fees:

$25.00 Registration fee

$20.00 per event

Requirements: All fencers must wear the required fencing attire and bring at least two working weapons and two working body cords.

8:30 AM: Y12 Mixed Epee

9:30 AM: Y14 Mixed Epee

Gym opens 1hr before first event

Tournament Format: All events will consist of one round of pools with 100% promotion to direct eliminations. Pools will generally consist of 6 or 7 fencers, with equal pool sizes whenever possible. All fencers will be promoted to a DE tableau. However, Y8 events will use the new proposed USFA format (2 rounds of pools w special seeding).

Y10 Events: Direct elimination bouts are 10-touch bouts (2 three-minute periods with a one-minute break in between). During the break, one designated person (a teammate, coach, or parent) may be on the strip with the fencer.

Y12, Y14, and Open Events: DE bouts are 15-touch bouts (3 three-minute periods with a one-minute break in between). During the breaks, one designated person (a teammate, coach, or parent) may be on the strip with the fencer.

Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top eight finishers in each event.

Liability Waiver: By entering this tournament, you agree to abide by the current rules of the USFA and other applicable rules instituted by Texas Fencing Academy. You acknowledge that you are entering this tournament at your own risk and release the USFA, its sponsors, Texas Fencing Academy, and referees from any liability. By entering, you give consent to Texas Fencing Academy to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, hospital, or clinic for any injury or illness that may arise during activities associated with this tournament.

Parking: Participants should plan on dropping off their fencers and then parking at the North Lamar Transit Center a short 7min walk up the road.

Refund Policy: No refunds will be given once we are within 7 days of the tournament. Refunds prior to that point will refund the event fee only.
