All fencers of Korean Descent are invited to compete in the Bi-Annual Korean American National Sports Festival Fencing Event June 22-23, 2019 Events Scheduled: Senior Mixed Foil Senior Mixed Epee Senior Mixed Saber Cadet Mixed Foil Cadet Mixed Epee Cadet Mixed Saber *Men's and Women's Events will be split if registration numbers are high enough. *If registration numbers are low, cadet events may be combined with the senior event on Saturday, June 22. ------------------ Important Info ------------------- Tournament: Korean American National Sports Festival Fencing Date: June 22 - 23, 2019 Location: Metro Tacoma Fencing Club, Lakewood, WA We are physically located at 8629 S Tacoma Way Lakewood, WA 98499, right next to the Olympus Spa and across the street from H Mart. Website: http://www.kasa-wa.org/ REGISTRATION AND ENTRY FEE: Please submit your paper registration and fees to the Korean American Sports Festival directly. Email info@tacomafencing.com if you need a copy of the registration form. RENTAL GEAR: A limited supply of very old and unreliable electric equipment will be available for rent at the event, but it is all club gear and you take your chances with it. $15 event rental (1 item or a full set) ------------------ Tournament Rules ------------------- This event is open to any fencer of Korean Descent. This is an unsanctioned event, and ratings cannot be earned. All fencers must have at least a Non-Competitive membership from USA Fencing. (Or an international membership, or apply for a USA Fencing Trial membership) Full USFA regulation uniform is required including plastron (underarm protector), knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. A foil mask with conductive bib and mask cord are required. Foil fencers who wear a hard plastic chest protector must use the new FIE-approved padded protector. Chest protectors are still required for female fencers, optional for male fencers. Names are not required on your uniform, but if you have your name on your uniform you will look extra awesome. Saber fencers must have the FIE approved glove. FORMAT: One round of pools followed by direct eliminations. There will be 100% promotion to direct eliminations. MEDALS: Medals will be awarded to the top 4 fencers in each category.
