Winter Epee Camp with Coach Michael Aufrichtig

A 3-day epee camp including a college recruiting seminar with Columbia University Coach Michael Aufrichtig open to any and all fencers! This camp will bring your game to the next level and allow you to acquire a unique insight into collegiate fencing and strategies. It is also a unique opportunity to closely work with one of the best fencing head coaches in NCAA in general and in the Ivy League in particular. Michael Aufrichtig is in his 12th year as the Head Men’s and Women’s Fencing Coach at Columbia University. His coaching style is all about helping fencers maximize their potential. His unique approach focusing on scenario-based practices has helped performance in what many fencers call high-pressured situations when the score is 14-14 or 4-4. He will highlight the mentality, confidence, focus, strip awareness of tactics, and drills the Columbia Fencing team does to feel comfortable in uncomfortable situations. The outcome of this three-day camp will be to provide ideas and tools to use for confidence on the strip, build important habits, and introduce breakthroughs to perform better at competitions. On Wednesday evening Coach Aufrichtig will share how the College Recruiting process for fencing. Wednesday 12/21/22 @ 5:15 pm This seminar is essential for High Schoolers and their families understanding of the college recruiting process from one of the most famous Ivy League fencing coaches. It will prepare you for the process of applying to college recruitment if your goal is to in college. Topics include: -- NCAA Rules -- Do Point Standings matter? Cadet, Junior, or Senior more Important? -- What are other factors Coaches are looking for while recruiting? -- What to send to coaches and when to send it? -- Test-taking ACT/SAT and the High School Transcript -- Importance of the Club Coach’s recommendation -- Balancing Academics with Fencing -- Different between a Recruit and Walk On -- Question and Answers With Coach Aufrichtig Fees: Early bird before 10/10/22 fee $525 After 10/10/22 fee is $650 Refunds and Cancellations: -- Refund request must be made in writing (email) no later than November 21, 2022. -- Refund will be issued less $50 non-refundable administrative fee.
