In honor of the most successful woman's foil and woman's epee fencer in US Fencing History, we are hosting the 2nd Annual Margo Miller Regional Youth Circuit. May 12 - 13, 2012 Prizes will be awarded to top 8 finishers in each event.

**** THIS TOURNAMENT COUNTS AS A QUALIFIER FOR SUMMER NATIONALS!!!!! We have secured a waiver from the USFA for an extension to the national qualifiers. So, register for summer nationals (THIS MONDAY IS THE DEADLINE) and state that you will be fencing in this event. When the results are turned in, they will verify that you did participate and will okay your entry. **** REGISTRATION CLOSES MAY 9TH!!!!!!!!!!! ENTRY 2011-12 USFA Birth year requirements: - Y 8: 2003-2005 suggested (*not a USFA category, participation is at parent discretion and USFA membership is not required) - Y10: 2001-2004 - Y12: 1999-2002 or Y10 NRPS - Y14: 1997-2000 or Y12 NRPS If you are on the NRP list and your entry is rejected for age, contact us and we will handle your entry. - USFA rules apply. - Full USFA regulation uniform is required. - Must have at least two working weapons and two body cords. - USFA or other foreign federation membership required (except Y8). You may join/renew at the door(parent signature required). USFA membership forms can be downloaded at http://usfencing.org/us-fencing-membership,or plan to come early to complete required paperwork. Fencers without proof of USFA or other federation membership must complete and pay for USFA membership. Checks for USFA membership must be made out to "USFA" or use credit card. - Y8/Y10 fencers must fence with #0 or #2 blades, i.e no longer than 32 inches. Photography, filming, recording, or any other form of media of the athlete during the tournament can be used by Salle D'Asaro, Beverly Hills Fencers Club and the USFA. Those wishing to opt out of media coverage must inform the Bout Committee.** ** Liability waiver - Upon entering this tournament you agree to abide by the current rules of the USFA and other applicable rules instituted by Salle D'Asaro and Beverly Hills Fencers Club. You acknowledge you are entering this tournament at your own risk and release the USFA and its sponsors, Salle D'Asaro and Beverly Hills Fencers Club, and referees from any liability. With entry you give consent to Salle D'Asaro and Beverly Hills Fencers Club to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, hospital or clinic for any injury or illness that may arise during activities associated with this tournament. FEES PAYMENT REQUIRED FOR COMPLETE ENTRY. UNPAID ENTRIES ARE NOT COUNTED. - Registered AND Paid on-line - $10 registration fee(nonrefundable) plus $35 per event - Unpaid registrations (incomplete, i.e. payment made at the door and subject to availability) - $10 registration fee plus $45 per event. - Walk-in (without preregistration) subject to availability- $10 registration fee plus $55 per event. Walk-ins only accepted if available space. Payments made at the door must be in cash or check only payble to "Salle D'Asaro." CREDIT CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Refund requests (event fee only) must be received at least 2 days prior to the event. FORMAT - Seeding: Current National Youth ranking within classification then letter ranking with year classification. - Only official USFA ratings will be used. Ratings will be verified prior to the event. - Events with fewer than 6 entries of one gender will be mixed. - Pools: One round of 5-touch/3 minute bouts. 100% advance to direct elimination rounds. - Direct Elimination: For Y14, DE bouts are 15 touch/9-minute bouts. For Y8/Y10/Y12, DE bouts are best 2 of 3 5-touch bouts. - There is no fence-off for third place. Medals awarded to Top 4. - Ratings can be awarded, however youth events do not use the E1 or D1 classifications. This means that these events are unrated until they achieve a C1 level or higher. Fencers are responsible for ensuring accuracy of all posted information and must report errors to the bout committee immediately.
