Birth Years: Y10 2006-2009 Y12 2004-2007 Y14 2002-2005 The fencer's birth year must falls within that age bracket OR if a fencer is currently, as of the entry deadline for that tournament, listed in a National age group point standing, the fencer may enter the next older age category of competition, even if that fencer is younger than allowed by the age bracket. In these cases the entry needs to be done manually into askfred by the organizers and you should mail in a check payable to "San Diego Fencing Center" for the total registration and events fees that must arrive prior to the pre-registration deadline. RYC events are run in accordance with USA Fencing rules and formats, this is a practice National event for our youth fencers and at National events you cannot show up and pay at the door. EQUIPMENT: There will be a weapons check as it is required for RYC events. This will give our young fencers the practice needed for National events where they must always have their equipment checked before the start of their event. We will be checking masks, lames, gloves, FIE gloves for sabre, body cords and mask leads. Armorers are available to help fix small issues, plus please check your equipment thoroughly according to US Fencing rules at the club before arriving. IN ORDER TO COMPETE, FENCERS MUST CHECK-IN AT THE VENUE WITH THE FOLLOWING IN HAND: 1. A USA Fencing membership card (valid for the current competitive season); AND 2. A waiver form that has been signed by a parent or legal guardian; AND 3. A birth-certificate (copy acceptable) or other government-issued identification showing the fencer's birth date. USA Fencing membership card with date of birth verification confirm will suffice. Refunds: For refund of event fees withdrawals must be received by October 9, 2016. Registration fees are nonrefundable. NOTE: This RYC has been sanctioned by the USA Fencing National Office.
