The Veteran Challenge

The Veterans Challenge was created to provide Vet fencers an opportunity to compete with each other and strengthen the Vet programs across our region. $15 Registration Fee + $10 Event Fee Events are sanctioned and ratings will be awarded where applicable. Competitive USA Fencing Membership and full uniform required. All USA Fencing rules will be followed. If events have fewer than 6 registrations, they may be combined further between ages and/or gender. By combining events to have a minimum of 6 fencers, the event can have at least as an E1 rating. (i.e. If there are 4 Vet-40 & older Men's Epee fencers and 5 Vet-40 & older Women's Epee fencers, the event can be fenced as combined as Vet-40 & older Mixed Epee.) When looking to combine events further, first we will look to combine the same genders from different age categories. (i.e. 5 Vet-40 & older Women's Epee fencers combined with 2 Vet-60 & older Women's Epee fencers for a total of 7 women's fencers in the event.) If combining the same genders within different age groups does not yield a minimum of 6 fencers, we will look to combine the different genders from within the same age category. (i.e. If there are 3 Vet-40 & older Women's Foil fencers and 2 Vet-60 & older Women's Foil fencers, by combining them, we still do not achieve the desired minimum 6 fencers in that event. If there are 6 Vet-40 & older Men's Foil fencers, we will combine the 2 Vet-40 & older Women's Foil fencers with them to make an event of 8. If by combining the Vet-60 & older Men's and Women's Foil events, we can achieve a minimum of 6 in the event, we will do so. If not, we will also combine them with the Vet 40 & older to make a Vet-40 & older Mixed event.)
