USFCA NE Regional Coaching Clinic (Intro Coaching)

This clinic is designed to teach foil and epee coaches the fundamentals of teaching methodology, safety and professionalism, how to cue blade actions, organize group classes, and make use of distance and direction when giving lessons. (Saber coaches are welcomed too, but our demos will will be with the point weapons.) The clinic will be taught by Fencing Masters Paul Sise and John Krauss. Paul was a member of the USFCA's Certification and Accreditation Board for nine years and was twice a member of the USFCA's coaching staff for Coaches Academy. John is a former USFCA Regional Vice President and was a recipient of the USFCA's Merit Award in 2017. Together, John and Paul have taught well over a dozen clinics together. Cost $200 for USFCA members $250 for Coaches who are not USFCA members. $100 for fencers(non-coaches) who will receive the lessons the coaches will be practicing. Exams: (Optional) USFCA exams at the following levels will be available: Foil, Epee, Saber Assistant Moniteur Moniteur Foil and Epee Prevot A limited number of exams will be offered. If you are interested in an exam, please email Paul Sise at paul.sise@pioneerfencing.com. Each weapon has separate practical exams, so if you would like to be a 3 weapon Moniteur, you'll need to take one written exam but register for, pay for, and take three separate practical exams. If demand for Moniteur exams is high, priority will be given to getting each person certified in one weapon rather than having only a couple of people take multiple exams. ------------------ How to register for USFCA exams: Get your USFCA membership and take the written exam at: https://www.usfca.org/ Requirements prior to practical examination (at clinic): -USFCA Membership -Pass exam required written test. -Payment of exam fees to USFCA (IMPORTANT) Bring proof of passing the written exam and proof of paying for the practical exam to the clinic. We will not be accepting payment for exams at the clinic.
