Region 4 RYC #3 at The Fencing Center San Jose, CA

All Registrants: The turnout is so much greater than expected that some event starting times have to be revised. An e-mail will be sent on Feb 17 to inform you of the changes and any pertinent details. The dates have not changed. Per the NGB's requirements Fencers/parents must be able to prove date of birth of fencers. Regular registration was $30, events were $25. After 02/07/2015 registration costs are double until 02/14/2014. Registration is now $60. Each event is $50. NOTE: There is an RYC #4 in April soon to be posted. If any event has less than 5 competitors the organizers will, if possible, combine with the other age specific event to make a mixed event. Preregistration closes on 02/07/2015. Registration between 02/08/2015 and 02/14/2014 is doubled. Withdrawals: Withdrawal is by e-mail to the organizers. The last day for withdrawal from an event with refund from the organizers is 02/07/2015. Refunds are given only for events and will be minus any charges by AskFred, taxes, or chargebacks. The Registration fee is non-refundable. Refunds will be mailed to the participant within 4 weeks after the event. Y10: Y10 events are required by USA Fencing to be fenced with weapons not exceeding 32 inches. Armory: Masks, body cords, lames and gloves must be checked by armorer before events. So allow time for that check. Due to the early checkin, the armory will be open starting Friday, Feb 20. If you live in the area and can come by early for armory checks please do so. T-shirts:T-Shirts are available for pre-order BEFORE 1/31/2015 in order to include participants' names on the back of the T-Shirt. YOU MUST BE FULLY PRE-REGISTERED (PAID) AND PRE-ORDERED BEFORE 1/31/2015 in order to include your name to the shirt design. If you pre-register after 1/31/2015, your name may not be added to the shirt, so please register by then. About the area: There are three restaurants within easy walking distance, Denny's, Wendy's and a Mexican taqueria. But there are numerous restaurants within a short drive including Vietnam Town, an Asian themed shopping district with many fine restaurants and "Plant Shopping Center", your familiar large outdoor mall. Auto Parking: TFC has 50 parking spots. Street parking in the area is possible. But the curb directly in front of the building is a bicycle lane and tickets are issued for parking there. The Walmart Market just down the street has graciously allowed us to use their parking lot. Google indicates that they are approximately a 4 minute walk from TFC. Please park toward the street and avoid their customers or the north wall where their associates park. It is suggested that fencers be dropped off with their gear at the front of the venue before parking cars. Note that the Walmart is a grocery outlet and carries full line of sport drinks, fruits and snacks.
