Rain City Fencing Center Super Youth Circuit April 22-25, 2016 at Rain City Fencing Center in Bellevue, WA Rain City Fencing Center is pleased to announce the 2016 Rain City Super Youth Circuit! SYCs are national point events for all youth age groups. Fencers from all over the US and Canada are expected to compete. Medals will be awarded to the top 8 finishers in each event. ---------- Registration Information ---------- Entry fees will vary depending on when you make your payment. Please note that Washington State now requires the collection of 9.5% sales tax on all entry fees (including for out-of-state fencers.) On or before March 25, 2016 (at 11:59pm PDT): - $30 registration fee ($32.85 with tax) - $40 per event ($43.80 with tax) After March 25, 2016 (at 11:59pm PDT), triple fees will apply: - $90 registration fee ($98.55 with tax) - $120 per event ($131.40 with tax) All tournament fees must be pre-paid at time of registration. Payment can be made on AskFRED (preferred), or you may submit your entry by mail using this form: http://www.raincityfencing.com/images/PDFs/sycentry.pdf Registration fees are non-refundable. Refunds of event fees can be requested by sending email to tournaments@raincityfencing.com. Please be prepared to provide a copy of the payment receipt email from AskFRED. Please do NOT cancel your registration on AskFRED first; doing so will delay the process. Refunds must be requested and necessary information provided no later than two weeks after the event. No refunds will be issued after May 9th, 2016. All fencers must bring the attached waiver signed by the fencer and their parent or guardian. You may join or renew your membership at the door. Foreign fencers must be current members of their nation's fencing federation or possess an FIE license. Full regulation uniform according to USA Fencing rules is required, including plastron, knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. Names are NOT required on fencer uniforms. Masks with electric bibs are required for all foil events. All saber fencers must wear 800N gloves. For epee, a conductive surface can ground out the opponent's weapon. Epee fencers may NOT wear electric foil masks. Two-weapon fencers must have two masks, or a mask with an exchangeable bib. For Youth-10 events, a 30” or 32” blade is required. For Youth-12 and Youth-14 events, a standard 30”-35” blade is permitted. ---------- Age Eligibility ---------- Eligibility is based on birth year, regardless of the specific day/month: Youth-10: Born in 2005 through 2008 Youth-12: Born in 2003 through 2006 Youth 14: Born in 2001 through 2004 Fencers with Youth-10 national points are eligible to fence in the Youth-12 events. Fencers with Youth-12 national points are eligible to fence in the Youth-14 events. All fencers must bring a form of government-issued ID or photocopy of a birth certificate for age verification. ---------- Event Seeding ---------- Fencer classifications, club and division affiliations, and national point rankings will be validated against the USA Fencing membership database as of April 21, 2016. It is the fencer's responsibility to ensure that USA Fencing has properly recorded any necessary changes or corrections prior to that date. No classification or affiliation changes will be made at the event. In all events, all ranked fencers (those possessing national points) will be seeded ahead of unranked fencers, regardless of classification. All unranked fencers will be seeded by classification letter and year. ---------- Equipment Check ---------- Please arrive early to allow time for equipment checks. We will be checking masks, lames, body cords, saber gloves, and foil/saber mask cords. Fencers who are in the Seattle area prior to the event can get equipment checked at Rain City Fencing Center on Thursday, April 21st from 7:30 - 9:00 PM. Guests staying at the Fairfield, Courtyard, and Residence Inn (all three hotels are adjacent to each other) are encouraged to take the shuttle to avoid the tight parking situation at Rain City. The shuttle will operate on a loop and should make the circuit every 15-20 minutes. The shuttle schedule is as follows: Friday: 8:30am - 5:30pm Saturday: 7:30am - 8:00pm Sunday: 7:30am - 8:00pm Monday: 8:00am - 4:30pm Our shuttle will NOT be stopping at the Hampton Inn. They have their own shuttle which may be available as-needed, but it should not be relied upon. ---------- Airport ---------- Seattle is served by Sea-Tac International Airport (SEA) which is 20 miles from the venue.
