This is a New Jersey Cup Tournament. All Open tournaments sanctioned by the New Jersey Division through May 31, 2012 are NJ Cup point events. Events are open to all USFA members (not limited to NJ Division members). The New Jersey Division will be reimbursing the winner of the 2012-13 New Jersey Senior Cups $250 for travel to the 2013 Summer Nationals. The runner-up will earn $100 reimbursement. Awards are presented at the NJ Div Annual Meeting(June/July). Points can be followed on FRED (Click "Results" heading). ENTRY ** Liability waiver - Upon entering this tournament you agree to abide by the current rules of the USFA and other applicable rules instituted by Cobra Fencing Club. You acknowledge you are entering this tournament at your own risk and release the USFA and its sponsors, Cobra Fencing Club, and referees from any liability. With entry you give consent to Cobra Fencing Club to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, hospital or clinic for any injury or illness that may arise during activities associated with this tournament. Photography, filming, recording, or any other form of media of the athlete during the tournament can be used by Cobra Fencing Club and the USFA. Those wishing to opt out of media coverage must inform the Bout Committee.** • Born 1999 or before,or on Junior NRP List. Fencers born after 1999 can compete if on Junior NRP point standings. If your entry is rejected for age, contact us and we will handle registration. Fencers without proof of USFA or other federation membership must complete and pay for USFA membership. Checks for USFA membership must be made out to "USFA" or use credit card. Foil mask with conductive bib required. • Must have at least two working weapons and two body cords. FEES • Regular fee - registered AND Paid on-line prior to Nov 17 - $40 per event. If you prefer to pay by check rather than on-line through FRED, e-mail the organizer for mailing instructions • Walk-in - $50 per event. Payment at door. Payments made at the door must be in cash or check only. Checks payble to "Cobra Fencing Club." CREDIT CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. • Refund requests honored only if received no later than Nov 13. E-mail refund requests to skaplan@touchtone.net FORMAT • Seeding: USFA Senior NRP ranking, then letter ranking with year classification. Only official USFA ratings will be used. • Fencers are responsible for ensuring accuracy of all posted information and must report errors to the bout committee immediately. Fencer signature on pool score sheets and DE bout slip implies accuracy. • Pools: One round of 5-touch/3 minute bouts. 100% advance to direct elimination rounds. • Direct Elimination: 15 touch/9-minute bouts. • No fence-off for third place. • Medals awarded to Top 3. • Event is sanctioned by NJ Division of the USFA. Withdrawal: • Withdrawal during pools: A fencer who withdraws, or who is excluded, is scratched from the pool, and his results are annulled as if he had not taken part. • Withdrawal during DE: When for whatever reason a fencer cannot fence or cannot complete his bout, his opponent is declared winner of that bout. A fencer who withdraws does not lose his place in the overall classification of the competition. CLOSE OF CHECK-IN TIMES Fencing begins shortly after close of check-in. Have the cab take Observer Highway West and turn left on Grove St. The Lackawanna Warehouse is on the right-hand side between 18th and 16th St. Parking is available in lot directly across street and also the parking lot at the southwest corner of 18th/Grove Streets.
