Teen Fencing Day a.k.a. Jr Olympic Qualifiers

All GMD teens are invited to compete. This is the one tournament all season that is for teens and only teens. Fencers of all levels of skill and experience are welcome. USFA membership is required (if you are a newbie and unsure whether you want to spend $60 on a full-season membership, contact the organizer about the USFA's new $10 one-day memberships). Entry fees: $10 for your first event, plus $5 per additional event. Note: The posted event schedule is TENTATIVE. Once registration closes, events with fewer than 4 competitors will be canceled, and event times will be adjusted for most efficient use of the day. Final event times will be posted here and also e-mailed to all competitors. Top 25% of the field qualify to represent the Green Mt Division at the national Jr Olympics in February! EXCEPTION: A separate qualifier will be held for womens epee on Monday, Nov. 7, at Mary Hogan School in Middlebury. This is necessary to accomodate a fencer going to the November NAC. Because of this, we are only holding one womens epee event at Teen Day (mixed junior and cadet), in hopes of having a single, larger event and avoiding having the same fencers fence eachother multiple times. The womens epee event at Teen Day will offer medals and Champlain Cup points to the winners, and welcomes ALL fencers, including novices, first time competitors, those with no interest in going to Jr Olympics, and those who just wish to fence for fun.
