Please contact us on discount details. Camp hours: 11:00am - 5:00pm Lunch will not be provided, however, there is food at the mall we are in and plenty of places locally. Coaching Bios: Allen Schneider: Allen started fencing in 2005 with Olympic coach Arkady Burdan. He started at the age of 14, but quickly became hooked to the sport. Just after over a year of fencing, he quickly obtain a "B" rating and was able to attend a cadet world cup in Poland. Later on, Allen obtained his "A" rating in 2008 and consistently being top 16 on the national points list for cadet and later in junior. Allen was later top 24 in the country in senior rankings (top 4 are generally Olympic fencers). Allen started his coaching career right when he started college in 2009. He started coaching at Georgia Tech which had a very successful college club called Yellow Jacket Fencing Club (Yellow Jacket is their mascot). Since then, he has been helping spreading the joy of fencing and decided to set up base in Athens, GA which has never had a fencing club before except the college club at UGA. Notable results: Div1A Men's Sabre Summer Nationals 2010 Atlanta - Bronze DIV1 Men's Sabre Championships 2011 - 12th Senior Satellite World Cup Iceland 2007- Bronze Senior Men's Sabre Team NAC 2013 - Bronze Southeast Sectional Gold Medalist 2008 (Senior) and 2010 (Junior). Southeast Sectional Silver Medalist 2008 (Junior). Southeast Sectional Bronze Medalist 2010 (Senior). Numerous medals in local competitions. "A" rated fencer since 2008. John Terris: John is the head coach and owner/operator of Georgia Fencing Academy. He is a Prevot de Foil & Épée with the United States Fencing Coaches Association, Academie Arms International, Moniteur of sabre, and Certified Level 2 Épée coach through the USFA Coaches College at the United States Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs, CO. He has competed in regional and national events, has coached students in local, regional, national, international events, and is currently studying to earn his Maitre d’Armes certification as a Fencing Master. John has worked with Gene Gettler (Cornell/AFC/Emory), Michael Marx (UI/Notre Dame/USFA NAT Coach), Brad Baker (TEMPLE/USFA Coach College), Alex Beguinet (Founder USFA Coaches College/ Head Coach Duke University). John has coached fencing teams at Emory University, Georgia Tech, Hollins University, Kennesaw State University, University of Georgia and is guest epee coach at Athens Fencing Club. He has also taught at the Summer University of the Gifted at Emory University. Head coach of the Lassiter High School Fencing Club (2008-2010) and is currently the head coach of Lanier High School Fencing Club, North Gwinnett High School Fencing Club, as well as Woodstock High School Fencing Club. John is also faculty as an adjunct instructor of fencing at Kennesaw State University. Preregistration opens on 02/25/2020. Preregistration closes on 03/14/2020.
