FRED Announces the Winter Foil and Epee Camp 10th Annual Winter Foil and Epee Camp. Begins Dec 27th and ends with the New Year's Open on the 1st. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT ESPECIALLY IF YOU NEED HOUSING!!! Northwest Fencing Center offers it's 10th Annual Epee and Foil Camp starting December 27th and ending January 1st with the New Years Open. Coaches: Michael Marx: Five time Olympic team member and holder of a record 8 US National Championships in Foil. He has coached numerous Cadet, Junior and Senior World Championship Teams. His students have earned over 150 National Titles. Mr. Marx earned his Fencing Master's Degree in Katowice, Poland. Sebastien Dos Santos: Member of the French National Modern Pentathlon Team, 4 time National Champion and International Gold Medalist. Sebastien was head coach for the 2004 French Women's Modern Pentathlon team and the 2008 Brazilian Modern Pentathlon team and is the current US Men's Epee National Coach. Carlos Bruno: Carlos has been fencing for the past 15 years and is nationaly ranked in epee. He has been coaching here at NWFC for the past three years. Darius Wei: Darius is a former coach at the University of Rochester and has been a coach at the NWFC for the last two years. he is a level 2 certified Fencing Coach from the USFA Coaches College. Simon Abram: Fencing Master, ASPTT Aix en Provence, France. Simon was Captain of the 2009 DIV I Men's Foil Team National Champions. Special guests Cody Mattern and Seth Kelsey CAMP INFORMATION Camp begins at 10:00am and ends at 4:00pm. Camp will consist of advanced skill development and refinement, bouting and conditioning. Camp also includes the "famous" or "infamous" New Year's Eve Party, and a chance to earn your 2010 rating at the New Years Open on January 1st, 2010. A limited amount of housing is available with NWFC families. Housing is provided on a first come basis, based on receipt of registration form and deposit. Homestay campers will be met at either airport or transit station. Please schedule your arrival no later than 7pm on Saturday, December 26th, and your departure on Saturday, January 2nd (or on Friday Jan 1st between 7pm and 10pm). Cost is $550, which includes camp, homestay (for campers under age 21years), meals and registration for the New Years Open. A $50 non refundable deposit is required to register; the balance of the camp fee is due on December 27th. Registration forms can be downloaded at nwfencing.org. Preregistration opens on 11/30/2009.
