The Southern California Division 2022-2023 Summer National Qualifier for Men's and Women's Division 2/3 and Y14 events in all 3 weapons is ONLY open to members of the SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Division, who are US citizens or permanent residents and meet the following eligibility requirements:
Y14: Born 2008-2011 or Y12 National Points
DV2: Born 2009 or earlier, and a rating of C, D, E or U
DV3: Born 2009 or earlier, and a rating of D, E or U
RESTRICTED TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DIVISION MEMBERS ONLY
We will not allow fencers to participate if their membership does not show Southern California as their division on the United States Fencing Association (USA Fencing) website. Please make sure USA Fencing has this on file by April 12th, 2023. (Every Division will hold their own Summer National Qualifiers.)
Fencers are required to show Proof of USFA Membership required, proof of age (Passport, Driver license, birth certificate) unless age verified with USFA.
Rating changes on AskFRED are NOT official. Only ratings listed on the USA Fencing Website will be acknowledged.
Please Note: Only Rubber-soled shoes are allowed in the gymnasium. PLEASE respect the venue!

Sign up on the day of the tournament/Late Fee: $90.00 per event (Double fees)
**EVENTS WITH FEWER THAN 4 FENCERS REGISTERED BY April 12, 2023, DEADLINE WILL BE CANCELED. FENCERS SIGNED UP ON CANCELLED EVENTS WILL AUTO QUALIFY FOR THE EVENT. FENCERS WILL RECEIVE A FULL REFUND FOR CANCELED EVENTS. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR FOR CANCELLED EVENTS.
Waiver fees will be considered on a case by case basis. These are for fencers who have financial hardships. Please contact jbeihold@gmail.com for consideration.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help set up: First 4 fencers to sign up to setup equipment will have registration fee waived. Please contact jbeihold@gmail.com to sign up.
Events will start about 15 minutes after the close-of-check-in times. Once the event has started, no late entries will be accepted. Event schedule is subject to change and may be updated one week before the tournament depending on the number of entries in each event.
Fencers who finish in the top 25% of their events will qualify for the Summer Nationals. For complete qualifying and appeal information, please refer to the 2022-23 Athlete Handbook which can be downloaded from the USA Fencing website.
Fencers will be required to submit masks and glove for inspection.
When determining who has qualified for a Championship, only fencers who qualify through National Points are skipped over to the next eligible fencer.
If you have already qualified for the Div 2/3 or Y14 event(s), you do not need to fence the qualifiers.
