This tournament is the qualifier for the Y14, DivII, DivIII events at U.S. Summer Nationals. This tournament is open ONLY to members of the Gulf Coast Division. Tournament will be held at: ALLIANCE FENCING ACADEMY 1212A Cedar Post Lane Houston, TX. 77055 REGISTRATION: The regular fee registration deadline is May 7, 2022 at 11:59 PM CT. Current USFA competitive membership is required. Please bring your USFA card and the photo ID WAIVER: Please pre-print and bring the tournament waiver to your event (see the link above). The weavers also will be available at the door. Parent signatures required on all forms for fencers under the age of 18. TOURNAMENT FEE: $30.00 registration + $20 per event $25 Late fee will be charge if no pre-registration on AskFred. Pre-registration closes midnight the Saturday before the event. TOURNAMENT FORMAT: One round of pools. 100% promotion to the Direct Elimination (DE) round. DE to the 1st place. Fence-off for 3rd place. Full fencing uniform is required: mask, glove, knickers, socks that cover to the bottom of knickers, underarm protector, chest protector for girls/boys, cup recommended for male fencers. A MINIMUM of 2 working weapons and 2 working body cords required for each fencer. Additional fencing gear will be available for purchase at the venue. Fencing masks and gloves check will be performed before each event SCHEDULE: Venue opens at 8:00 AM. Weapon check start at 8:00 AM. 9:00 AM: Y14 MF Y14 WF Y14 MS Y14 WS Y14 ME Y14 WE 12:00 PM: Div2 MF Div2 WF Div2 MS Div2 WS Div2 ME Div2 WE Hours may be revised depending on the number of registered. Face masks are required per USA Fencing's policy: https://www.usafencing.org/news_article/show/1130356 For any event with three or fewer eligible and properly prepared entrants, the organizers reserve the right to declare all entrants tied for first place, without any bouts being fenced. FOR ALL EVENTS Athletes are permitted to fence in their Division qualifying competitions only IF: 1) The athlete is a US Citizen OR Permanent Resident and a current competitive/collegiate competitive member of USA Fencing AND 2) The athlete meets the various qualifying event criteria OR 3) The athlete's birth year falls in that age bracket OR 4) The athlete is on the national rolling point standings in the next younger age bracket For events where 25% (rounding up) qualify in the divisional qualifying event, for small numbers of competitors, the number qualifying is a larger fraction. for 1 competitor: 1 qualifies for 2 competitors: 2 qualify for 3-12 competitors: 3 qualify for 13 or more: 25% (rounding up) qualify Results will be separated for the purposes of qualification. The top 25% of eligible fencers with a rating of C, D, E or U will qualify for DivII The top 25% of eligible fencers with a rating of D, E or U will qualify for DivIII, starting with the first fencer after those qualified for Division II Any C fencers in this range are skipped If you qualify for DivII, during this specific event, you will qualify for DivIII. If you compete in the current season's division qualifying competition for Division II and/or Division III and are a veteran, you qualify for veteran This event is part of the USA Fencing National Championships, held each summer.
