SoCal Challenge Unrated Epee Tournament This is the first SoCal Challenge event for this season. These events are developmental in nature and will provide a great opportunity for the new fencer (and parents) to gain valuable experience. In collaboration, United Fencing Academy and Beverly Hills Fencers' Club will be hosting a series of Tournaments. Organizational support will be provided by the Amy M. Fortune Foundation. This is a sanctioned event. All USA Fencing rules apply. All fencers must have current USA Fencing membership (Access Level or Competitive Level) and be 13 years old as of Jan. 1, 2022. Location: United Fencing Academy 21251 Deering Ct. Canoga Park, CA 91304 Events Scheduled: 9AM Unrated Senior Men's Epee 1PM Unrated Senior Women's Epee ---------------------------------------------- Each event is capped at 42 fencers ---------------------------------------------- Deadline to register is April 23, 2022. Entry Fee is $45 for each event. Payable at door. (cash, checks, QR code for pay apps). In order to participate, fencers must be 13 years or older as of Jan 1, 2022 and have current USA Fencing membership (Competitive or Access level). Tournament Format: Single round of pools with 100% promotion to single Direct elimination table. Medals awarded to the top 4 fencers of each event. If 6 or more fencers are in the event, the 1st place fencer will earn an "E" rating. Equipment Check: Mask and glove checks will be performed. Gloves with holes, rips, tape or loose seams will not be approved. MASK MANDATE All participants in USA Fencing sanctioned events, including coaches, athletes, spectators, and staff, MUST wear a facemask that covers their mouth and nose at all times, including competition. PROOF OF VACCINATION Individuals who have completed a COVID vaccine series (Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Novavak, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Covaxin, or CoronaVac) 14 days prior to arrival at the venue will NOT need to obtain a negative PCR or antigen test result. COVID-19 Testing for Medical or Religious Exempt Individuals PCR test results must be within 72 hours prior to arrival at the venue. Proof of your negative COVID-19 test result and exemption must be presented at registration for verification. Preregistration opens on 03/28/2022. Preregistration closes on 04/23/2022.
