VENUE CHANGE
Events with 3 or fewer fencers do not have to be fenced; however, since registrations are allowed at the door, you do have to show up prepared to fence.

The Disision Officers felt it was a great unconvince to the Lone Star staff to open their club to just sit all day waiting to see if anyone wanted to register at the door. Therefore, we decided to move the venue to:
FENCING INSTITUTE OF TEXAS
1000 West Crosby Road, Suite 134
Carrollton, Texas 75006

NORTH TEXAS DIVISION MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED Participation requires a competitive or Access membership. New in 2021, the Access Membership is for a wide range of individuals within the fencing community. Access members can compete at all sanctioned local tournaments. In order to compete at Regional or National tournaments, Access Members must upgrade to the Competitive membership.

[Disclaimer] If you are ALREADY QUALIFIED, DO NOT FENCE. Fencers who have earned national points are the only athletes who will be skipped over. Athletes who have already qualified via a regional path will not be skipped over at any division qualifier.
If an event has three or fewer entries, this event will not be fenced and the qualifications will be processed (up to three will qualify). However, ALL fencers must be present at the venue at the close of registration.

BRING PROOF OF PAID COMPETITIVE MEMBERSHIP and your parent/guardian SIGNED WAIVER or you will not be allowed to fence.

AGE ELIGIBILITY
Youth 14 -- 2007-2010
Div 2/3 --- 12/31/2008 or earlier

SPECIAL NOTE FOR FENCERS WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A HIGHER AGE GROUP EVENT BY VIRTUE OF POSITION ON THE NRPS
At this time, Askfred will not let you register and pay for an event for which you are not age eligible. If you are eligible to fence in an event by virtue of being on the NRPS in a lower age category, please contact Brenda Waddoups, waddoups@att.net with the name of the athlete, and the events the fencer wishes to fence, and proof of NRPS. You will be advised on how to proceed to pay for the events. Please verify your eligibility BEFORE doing this! No refunds will be given for ineligible fencers who mistakenly enter.

If you have a question about eligibility, please contact USA Fencing.

If you prefer to pay by check, you may mail a check payable to: NORTH TEXAS DIVISION USFA c/o NaRaye Williams, Treasurer

REFUND POLICY: The NTX Division follows the refund policy of the USFA. Refund requests must be made prior to April 1st, 2022 at midnight. The registration fee is not refundable. The event fee will be refunded less FRED fees and postage. No refunds will be issued for event no-shows. Refunds will be processed within 3 weeks after the tournament. No refunds will be given for requests made after April 1, 2022.

PETITION PROCESS: In exceptional cases, when a fencer is unable to participate in the Division Qualifier, or in Regional qualifying events, the fencer may petition the National Office. Information may be found in the Athlete Handbook online in paragraph 2.6.5.

If a fencer meets the classification requirement when his or her application is processed by the Division, and subsequently earns a higher classification, the fencer retains eligibility for that tournament.

FENCE OFF FOR THIRD: If there are more than three fencers, but fewer than 13, third place must be fenced. Where there are 13 or more fencers in the final results, third place does not have to be fenced.

We will not fence an event if 3 or fewer fencers are signed up as all three will qualify. Fencers will be listed as DNF (did not fence). Per USFA guidelines, to qualify you must still pay registration and event fees and be present at the tournament.
