COVID-19 Protocol

We are following all National, State, and local COVID-19 guidelines. There will be no exceptions to COVID-19 safety protocols implemented throughout the tournament.
Changes to the COVID-19 protocols and the tournament may be changed at any time to ensure the safety of all.

• Check-In: Check-in for our tournaments will be performed in front of the club. The check-in worker will wear a face shield, mask, and gloves. Hand sanitizer will be available at the check-in desk. The competitors will check in via FencingTime kiosk software. Fencers will need a current USA Fencing Membership Card with Bar Code (Printed or via Cell Phone).


• NO LARGE FENCING BAGS To limit contact between participants, NO large fencing bags will be allowed. Strip bags/small bags you carry with you are OK.

• All Fencers must come dressed in freshly washed Fencing Uniforms (i.e. fencing pants (breeches), plastron, jacket, chest protector- if using). Changing rooms will not be available.


• Everyone will be subject to a temperature check before entering the venue. 



• Do NOT come to the competition if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or a fever.

• Proof of a Negative Resulting COVID test within the 7 days of your event is required upon entry.



• Coach, parents, or spectators will not be allowed into the venue.


• Face masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn at all times in the venue. 



• No shaking hands or touching hands/hugging after bouts. Fencers will be required to Salute and clap blades at the end of the bout.


• Athletes shall refrain from shouting and/or screaming after scoring a touch. During the fencing, fencers will receive yellow/red cards for this behavior based upon the “disturbing order” rule.



• No signing score sheets, fencers will visually inspect and approve score sheets. 


• Maintain social distancing inside the venue, except while actively fencing on the strip.


• Pool and Strip Assignments will be posted ONLINE to avoid congregation. Wifi will be available so you can follow the live results.


• Registration opens 1 hour before the "Close of Registration" times posted.

This tournament is the qualification path for "Central California" fencers ONLY who wish to compete in Division 2 (C Rating and Lower) or Division 3 (D Rating or Lower) Summer National events and who have not already qualified for Div 2/3 or JOs through Regional events or respective NACs.

The top 25% qualify in each event with a minimum of 3 fencers qualifying. In the case of 3 or fewer participants, there will be no fencing, fencers will auto qualify.

Open only on to Central California Division Fencers with a C, D, E or U and current competitive USFA membership. As this is a National Championship Qualifier, fencers must be US citizens or permanent US residents to participate in this tournament and the Summer National Championships. Your USA Fencing membership must indicate "Central California Division" and that you represent the USA.

Please bring your USFA membership card and a government-issued ID to verify your eligibility to fence in this event in case it is not yet verified by the USFA.

Competition Format

One round of seeding pools with 100% promotion to direct elimination; for 12 or fewer fencers, third place qualifying spot will be fenced off.

National age eligibility requirements will be enforced; See https://www.usafencing.org/age-classification-eligibility

Fencers with points in the next lower age category who do not otherwise meet age eligibility are allowed to fence; e-mail us to request addition to the competition. As askFred will not be able to accept the preregistration and payment, please bring a check with the competition fees to the tournament with the fee per schedule below (based on the date of your request).
