This tournament is open to all Colorado Youth 10, 12 and 14 fencers. $20 non-refundable registration fee, $20 event fee. All fees must be paid in advance either via AskFred or credit card information called into SDFA. No payments will be accepted at the door as no walk-ins are allowed. There are competitor limits for each event. We will increase the limits if possible. If you try to sign up for an event and get a message that the event limit has been reached, please reach out to be put on a waiting list. Dates will not change, but times may change based on the number of entries. Events Scheduled: Youth 10, 12, 14 Epee Youth 10, 12, 14 Foil Youth 10, 12, 14 Sabre Preregistration closes on 6/1/2021. IMPORTANT COVID PROTOCOLS - REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS!!! Masks – Everyone must wear a cloth mask fully covering nose and mouth while inside the club other than drinking and eating. No exceptions will be made including during fencing. If you will not be able to keep a cloth mask on the whole time you are in the building, do not come. Neck gaitors and bandanas are not permitted. Doors will be opened 45 minutes prior to each event. Check In – All memberships will be verified prior to the tournament. Check in will take place on the sidewalks outside the club. Proper social distancing is taped off on the sidewalks. FENCERS MAY ONLY BRING A PLUS ONE. The plus one may be a coach/parent/etc. Chairs will be appropriately spaced out around each fencing room and must stay where they are placed. Chairs will be wiped down between events. Coaches may go on strip during one minute breaks in DEs as long as they are wearing a mask. Chairs will be placed in pairs around the fencing rooms and must stay where they are placed throughout the events. Each club may send ONE person to coach all of their fencers each day. Payment – Tournament will be full pre-pay on AskFred. $20 registration fee will be non-refundable. Event fee will be refundable until Wednesday, 6/2. Equipment Check – Will be held in the hallway outside the club. Armourer will be wearing mask. He will sanitize his hands after handling each fencer’s gear. We will try to have strip assignments done prior to the tournament so fencers will know which room they are assigned. Check FencingTimeLive for information. Bag storage – Fencers should come to the tournament dressed in their base layer of fencing gear. Fencers will be encouraged to use a strip bag only. Spaces that are 6’ apart are marked out in the front area of the club. Once those 8 spaces are taken, the remaining fencers will be allowed to take their fencing bag into one of the fencing rooms as long as they keep it close to their chair. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the club. Bout Committee – Will wear mask and will be behind countertop plexiglass shields. Referees – Will wear mask and may be wearing a face shield. Fencers may request that the referee sanitize their hands before performing equipment check. All postings will be online via FencingTimeLive, there will be no paper postings. Referee will show the score sheet to each fencer for verbal approval. Containers of wipes will be placed at each end of the strips for fencers to use to wipe down the reel plugs as desired. Fencers will not shake hands, but appropriately acknowledge their opponent at the end of each bout with a salute. Restrooms will remain open and will be sanitized throughout each day. Vending machine will be available for the purchase of drinks and will be sanitized throughout the day. No other snacks will be available. The event schedule allows for ample time for fencers from one event to leave the building before the fencers from the next event will be allowed to enter. Fencers will be given 15 minutes to leave the building after their event is over. Awards – Awards will be given out in the bigger fencing room with 6’ between the fencers.
