Roaring Fork Fencers Club Beginner Foil Event Dec 12, 2020
Glenwood Springs Recreation Center: Glenwood Springs, CO
posted 11/05/2020
More Info
Coach Greg Domashovetz contact information: or 847.778.8513

This event is a dry, non-electric practice competition for fencers that have started fencing foil in Roaring Fork Fencers Club or at other Western Slope and High Country fencing clubs since June 2020. Fencers from both beginner camps and beginner classes are invited to attend.

Electric scoring will not be used and equipment will be provided. Fencers with their own equipment must use it and fencers are encouraged to purchase their own equipment. All equipment for loan is currently being sanitized after each use, either through a sanitizing spray or laundering.

Event subject to cancellation if Covid case numbers in Garfield, Eagle, Pitkin, and Mesa counties as well as Colorado overall exceed safer-at-home thresholds. An email will be sent to you if that is the case.

This event is for practice--prioritize the safety of our fencing community over this one competition. If you have been or think you have been exposed to an active Covid case within the past two weeks (since Thanksgiving) please do not attend. If you have contracted Covid, please stay home unless you have been without fever for 72 hours, have had at least 10 days since symptoms first onset, and non-fever symptoms (eg cough) have improved. If in doubt, contact Coach Greg.

- Community Center opens at 10 am
- Close of registration: 11 am
- Fencing starts: 1115 am at latest
- Expected conclusion of event: 330-4 pm (hopefully earlier)
- Community center closes at 5 pm

Entries limited to fencers *living* in Colorado in counties west of the Front Range, ie. the high country and western slope. If unsure, please contact Coach Greg (info above).

All fencers and spectators will be required to sign in for contact tracing purposes.

Each competitor will be limited to one accompanying spectator. The only non-fencing spectators allowed will be news media or other qualified persons.

All competitors and spectators must always wear a mask unless drinking, eating, or for another reasonable purpose and must replace the mask as soon as possible. This includes while fencing. When not fencing, all persons are expected to physically distance 6 ft from others outside their household.

You must have a USA Fencing membership (competitive or non-competitive are both accepted) or qualify for a free trial membership. Any student who has attended more than three classes in a Roaring Fork Fencers Club program will already have a non-competitive level membership.

$30 per entry. $10 penalty if not preregistered. Some financial assistance is available.
