Event is sanctioned by US Fencing NJ Division. SPECIAL REGULATIONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: This event will be held OUTDOORS. Only pre-registered fencers are permitted to participate. Payment possible through ASKFRED or at the venue. Only New Jersey Division affiliated fencers are permitted to enter. Atlantic Fencing Academy will be following its comprehensive COVID PRECAUTIONS including contactless check-in, wearing masks, washing, sanitizing hands, social distancing. Fencers does not require to wear a face covering under the fencing mask while fencing. Schedule: All times are close of registration. All fencers must sign in by scanning their USA Fencing membership card. Check in opens one hour before times listed. At the event, if a fencer decides to withdraw prior to the commencement of the tournament due to COVID19 safety concerns, will receive full refund. In case of expected inclement weather, participants will be notified by email the evening before the event and changes will be posted on Atlantic’s website. We retain the right to cancel an event, if there are no minimum of 6 participants per age group. Full USFA regulation uniform and equipment are required for ALL participants, including 800 NW saber glove. You can rent some sanitized equipment from the club - please notify in advance. Cost $20. Y8 and Y10 fencers can fence only with #0 or #2 blades. Eligible Birth Years: Y8: 2012-2015 Y10: 2010-2013 Y12: 2008-2011 Tournament Format: Y10 and Y12 sanctioned event: One round of pools with 100% promotion to Direct Elimination rounds. No fence-off for third place. Y8 event: One round of pools with 100% promotion to Direct Elimination rounds [5 touches only]. No fence-off for third place. Top eight fencers receive medal. More info: The state-of-the-art facility of the Atlantic Fencing Academy is only couple of minutes away from GSP Exit 109. Indoor, we have eleven grounded strips. For outdoor tournaments we have ample space for social distancing, seating for competitors and parents. Indoor restrooms, hand sanitizers and vending machine with water and Gatorades are available. Bring a big towel, if you need to stretch on the ground or want to put down your equipment on it.
