FRED Announces the CULVER Midwest High School Open. ========== This is a Recognized USA Fencing High School Event. Details may be found in the USA Fencing handbook. === ELIGIBILITY === Fencers may only fence one event at this tournament. OPEN TO ALL HIGH SCHOOL FENCERS WITH ONE EXCEPTION: If you are enrolled in a Great Lakes High School Conference member or district school and do not fence on their varsity or club team, you may not compete in this event per Great Lakes High School Fencing Conference rules. If you have any questions, please email the tournament organizers. === NEW THIS YEAR - Open Varsity Events and E-Under Junior Varsity Events === OPEN EVENTS: Open to all High School Fencers plus any 1st or 2nd year fencer who placed in the top-4 of a GLHSFC tournament in the current season or the previous season. E-UNDER JUNIOR VARSITY EVENTS: High School fencers with a USA Fencing classification of E or Unclassified OR fencers in their 1st or 2nd year of fencing. -->For example: you're in your 3rd year in fencing and a high school freshman. You have your "B" in Foil and a "U" in epee and you want to fence the E-Under JV epee event because it will be fun. Your registration will not be accepted for the E-under event on the grounds of having too much fencing experience and not being in the spirit of the event. The E-under JV events are designed to provide an authentic athletic and developmental experience appropriate for beginner fencers enrolled in high school. Please Note: All non-member high school fencers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. === VENUE === Steinbrenner Recreation Center, 1300 Academy Road, Culver, IN 46511 === MEMBERSHIP === While recommended, USA Fencing membership is not required.
