D-and-Under Senior Foil Tournament in Bakersfield

** D-and-Under SENIOR FOIL TOURNAMENT ** The Kern Athletic Fencing Foundation invites you to join us in Bakersfield, CA, for our inaugural SoCal Division-- sanctioned Senior Mixed Foil tournament, for fencers of age 13+ with ratings of D, E or U. Event Fee: $15 Events Scheduled: D & Under Senior Mixed Foil 10:00 a.m. Preregistration opens on 07/20/2019. Preregistration closes on 10/19/2019. LOCATION: Kern Athletic Fencing Foundation (KAFF) Fencing Studio, Located upstairs of The Woman’s Club of Bakersfield 2030 18th Street, 2nd Floor, Bakersfield, CA 93301 VENUE: KAFF is located in a historic building in downtown Bakersfield and there is plenty of free street parking. The fencing venue is up a flight of external stairs and there is no elevator in the building. Spectator seating is limited. An ample equipment room is available for fencing bags. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. REGISTRATION: Event Fee is $15, payable at the door by cash or check, or in advance by credit card on AskFred.net. For planning purposes, we request that you please pre-register on AskFred.net before October 18, 2019. At-the-door registrations will also be available. Current USA Fencing competitive membership is required, and fencers must be born in 2006 or earlier to compete. CHECK-IN: Check-in will be open for one hour before the stated time of the event. SCHEDULE: Senior Mixed Foil Close of Check-in: 10:00 a.m. FORMAT: This will be a self-referee’d tournament. There will be one round of pools with 100% promotion to direct elimination, and no fence-off for 3rd place. Medals will be awarded to top 4 finishers. EQUIPMENT: Full fencing uniform is required: jacket, underarm protector, fencing knickers, socks covering legs below the knickers, glove, foil mask with conductive bib and use of mask cord.
