Format

Team Events:

One round of team pools with 100% promotion to direct elimination tableau.

All team events will be Dual Meet format – teams of 3 fencers (with 1 substitute) fence 5-touch bouts, up to a maximum of 9 bouts. The first team to win 5 bouts wins the match. Medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each event.

Y12 Individual Event:
Two rounds of pools. After first round, fencers will be divided into “sharks” and “minnows” for the second round. Medals will be awarded to the top 4 finishers in each category. Pools will be separated by gender if the numbers permit.

Team Men's Epee - 9AM
Team Women's Sabre - 11:30AM
Team Men's Foil - 12:30PM
Team Women's Epee - 2:00PM
Team Women's Foil - 3:30PM
Team Men's Sabre - 3:30PM

*Events start approximately 30 min after close of registration

Fees

All team events:

$75 per team if registered on or before October 17th
$90 per team at the door

Y12 Individual mixed foil:

$30 per fencer if registered on or before October 17th
$45 per fencer at the door

*All Fees are to be paid at the door (CASH ONLY)

General Information

The Mustang Invitational 2018 is sanctioned by the Ontario Fencing Association.

All events are JFF (Just For Fun) and results will not be submitted for any ranking purposes.

This competition will be run according to current FIE regulations. The Directoire Technique reserves the right to apply or modify these regulations as they see fit as according to section t.15 of the FIE Rules.

ALL participants are required to have an active CFF Fencing License or an equivalent license from the participant's home institute. You may purchase/renew your license via the Canadian Fencing Federation website: https://www.fencing.ca/content/membership-registration. Please be ready to show your purchase receipt and CFF license number at registration to confirm License Validation.

USFA members must show a valid USFA membership card. Please enter your USFA membership number in the "CFF License" field.

All fencers are REQUIRED to wear a sous plastron as well as fencing pants with long socks so that the legs are fully protected. Track pants will not be permitted as substitutions for fencing pants.

All foil fencers are REQUIRED to have a conductive foil bib.

Participants that enter in multiple events may be required to fence multiple bouts without breaks. Should conflicts arise, participants may be asked to withdraw from an event.

IF ANY INDIVIDUAL FENCER WOULD LIKE TO COMPETE, BUT DOES NOT HAVE A TEAM, PLEASE CONTACT CAROL CHRISTIE AND YOU WILL BE PLACED ON A TEAM WITH OTHER UNATTACHED FENCERS.
