SoCal Scholastic League Team Foil

Middle Schools and High School are welcome to sign up their 3 to 4 member team representatives. Have your Coach or Team Captain sign up you team. Team Names will b your school name, unless it is a composite team. Teams will fence off for 1st through 3rd places. Events are restricted by academic standing, not age. Events are open to Middle and High School teams. Each team member must bring school ID and proof of competitive USFA membership. Middle School: 6th grade to 8th grade High School: 9th grade to 12th grade Location: Chaminade High School Uribe Sports Center Gym 7500 Chaminade Ave. West Hills, CA 91304 League Schools must pay their League dues to Sam Signorelli. League Schools are: Brentwood Chaminade Harvard Westlake Lakeview (Victorville) Le Lycee Francais VAPA Vistamar If your school does not have a fencing team or if your school is not part of the SoCal Scholastic Fencing League, you can still form a composite team for the corresponding school category. This would categorize your team as "Non-League" School Team. Non-League School Team - Fee is $75.00 per team. (Only cash or check accepted, to be paid at tournament) Reminder: Each school can send one Varsity A Team to compete. All Varsity A High School Fencers must have fenced in either or both the #1 or #2 individual SoCal Scholastic League Foil events to be considered for the High School Varsity "A" Team event. Team Events Scheduled: 9AM Men's High School Varsity B Team Foil 11AM Men's Middle School Team Foil 12PM Men's High School Varsity A Team Foil 1PM Women's High School Varsity B Team Foil 2PM Women's High School Varsity A Team Foil 3PM Women's Middle School Team Foil Event Format - Teams will fence the best of Nine 5 point bouts. Equipment: A full fencing Jacket (FIE not required), a plastron, a glove, and fencing knickers. Socks must cover all the leg not covered by the knickers. Women's equipment must include breast protectors made of metal or rigid material inside the jacket. All foil fencers must have a conductive foil bib on their mask. Please wear shoes with "non-marking" or white soles to all competitions. Inspections: Mask and gloves will be inspected by the armorer. Weapons will be tested on the strip. You will not be allowed to fence with weapons that do not conform to USFA standards.
