2018 GERRIE BAUMGART SYC/RCC – OCTOBER 19-21, 2018 ALL REGISTRATIONS WILL BE MADE USING THE USA FENCING WEBSITE. THIS PAGE IS BEING USED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. SEEDING/LIVE RESULTS LINK: fencingtimelive.com Armoury will be open for equipment inspection 6:00pm – 8:30 pm on Thursday, October 18. Armoury will open at 7:00am each day of the competition. The Super Youth Circuit (SYC)/Regional Cadet Circuit (RCC) is sanctioned by USA Fencing and their Youth Development Committee. This SYC will provide an opportunity to earn national youth rolling points. Additionally it is a qualifying path for Summer Nationals for Y14, Y12, and Y10 age categories. National Points will be awarded to those fencers placing in the top 40% of the competitive field regardless of where the cut occurs. The RCC events are a qualifying path for Cadet fencers for the Junior Olympics. (Cadet fencers may participate in any RCC/RJCC events, but may only earn points at RCC events within their own region). Please contact the organizers to confirm. FEES: Registration is through USA Fencing. Payment must be made at time of registration. The regular fee registration period ends at 11:59pm 9/30/18. Regular Registration Fee: $35 Regular Fee per Event: $50 The triple-fee registration period – 10/01/18 to 11:59pm 10/15/2018. Triple-Fee Registration Fee: $105 Triple-Fee Fee per Event: $150 All registrations made after 11:59pm on 10/15/2018 cannot be made online and will be considered walk-ins. Walk-in Registration Fee: $105 Walk-in Fee per Event: $150 Payment at the door for walk-in registration must be made in cash. REFUNDS Registration fees and administration fees will not be refunded. Last day to request refund of entry fees is October 12, 2018. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS. ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION Your USA Fencing membership card will be checked during check-in, so please make sure you have it with you. Temporary paper membership cards can be printed off from the USA Fencing website. Those whose membership card does not indicate that their birth year has been verified by USA Fencing will also have to show a birth certificate, passport or other government issued ID at registration. Copies of these documents are acceptable. Birth Year/Points eligibility Y10 2008-2011 Y12 2006-2009 or on Y10 NRPS list Y14 2004-2007 or on Y12NRPS list Cadet (U17) 2002-2005 or on Y14 NRPS SEEDING The Bout Committee will use the current rating and points information found on the USA Fencing website for seeding purposes. Please verify that your rating and points standing are correct with USA Fencing and contact the National Office to resolve any discrepancies prior to the tournament. Current national Rolling Point Standings according to age group and weapon. This filters down the entire list, not just the top 32 as done in a NAC 2. Letter Ranking with year classification. 3. Athletes with neither of the above are seeded in a random basis after the athletes who are seeded by the preceding factors. It is the fencer’s responsibility to notify the Bout Committee of any registration discrepancies before the close of check-in for the event (i.e. wrong club, wrong rating, misspelled name, etc). FORMAT All events will have one round of pools with 100% promoted to a direct elimination (DE) tableau. There is no fence-off for third place. UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS All USA Fencing uniform requirements apply. This includes the mandatory use of knickers, long socks, and underarm protectors. Conductive foil bibs are required. Elastic strap at the back of the mask is required. Names are NOT required to be on the uniform. 800N SABER GLOVES ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL USA FENCING SANCTIONED TOURNAMENTS STARTING OCTOBER 1st, 2015. 1) The rule in m.25.4 that chest protection for FOIL fencers must be covered by a soft material applies to ALL chest protection for foil fencers, regardless of style. The Armoury Equipment Check will test the mask, glove, lame, sabre cuffs, head cords, body cords and also chest protectors for foil fencers. Items that have passed inspection will be specifically marked. Directors will be checking for these marks prior to the start of fencing. Full Armory Equipment Check is required for all competitors, with no exceptions. Fencers only need to have their equipment passed once for the duration of the SYC. For Y10 events, a 30” or 32” blade is required. For Y12, Y14, and Cadet events standard blade length of 30-35” is permitted. These rules will be strictly enforced.
