Duel Sainte-Helene 2018 (Outdoor Epee)

This year, Escrime Mont-Royal (www.escrimemontroyal.com) is proud to partner with the Stewart Museum (www.stewart-museum.org) to organize a unique event, in both Quebec and Canada: an outdoor tournament in mixed epee that will take place on June 2, 2018 from 10am to 6pm (rain date June 3). The number of participants is limited to 60, so register early! Venue :: Ile Sainte-Helene, Montreal. The tournament will be held on a dozen strips marked directly on the ground, with all the finals inside the walls of the Fort. The spectators will have free access to all spaces adjacent to the Fort. Access to the fort is free. Optional museum access ($15CA) and parking ($18CA) details are available on the museum website. Scenario :: (Tentative) Two rounds of pools (mixed). No elimitation after the pools. Separate direct elimination tables for men and women. Lunch :: As per last year, we are arranging optional box lunches on pre-order only. They will be available for you, your family and friends around midday. Please see the payment form for details and to order. Registration :: CA$50 (approx. $38US) before May 27, payable online at www.escrimemontroyal.com/p/saintehelene2018-inscriptions.html or by cheque mailed to Escrime Mont-Royal. After this date, registration will be CA$60 (approx. $46US) payable on site in cash, subject to availability (max 60 fencers). You will have to sign a waiver to access the competition site. It's not just a tournament, but an opportunity for the public to learn about the noble art and science of fencing and try it for themselves. Activities and initiation to modern, historical and wheelchair fencing for adults and children will entertain the crowd throughout the day. * * * * * * * * * * * * WAIVER REQUIREMENTS :: A copy of the waiver below will be sent with your registration confirmation. Please print, sign and bring them with you to the competition. Also note that all fencers under 18 years old must have their release forms signed by a parent or guardian. Fencers under 14 will require their parent's written consent and written approval in advance from their coach. Please make sure that you have a guardian sign the attached documents and bring them with you the day of the tournament. You will not be allowed to participate without a tournament release form signed by both you and a guardian. On Site Waiver :: I acknowledge that the practice of outdoor fencing includes the risk of injury and accidents. I declare to know the nature and extent of these risks, I freely and voluntarily agree to accept them and I, for my part and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, release Stewart Museum, Escrime Mont-Royal, their coaches, officials, members, agents, officers, employees and competition organizers, from any and all responsibility and waive any right, claim, demand or action, arising from loss, injury or damage suffered during or following the practice of outdoor fencing.
