Please bring proof of membership to the venue. http://www.usafencing.org
Per USA Fencing: Please note there is a $10 fee for paper forms. There may also be a delay in the complete processing of your membership if emailed or faxed. It is always preferable to join or renew on-line.
Persons under age 18 MUST have a parent's signature on the USFA form.
Novice events are restricted to fencers who have been fencing for one year or less. No fencers who has been taking lessons and/or competing in any weapon can qualify as a "novice." [Example: If you have fenced foil for 2 years, but only just now pick up an epee and want to compete in the novice epee event, sorry... you are NOT a novice.]
Fencers in the novice events are only required to have the Non-Competitive memberships in USA Fencing.
Novice fencers are not required to have fencing knickers. Sweat pants, jogging pants, or warm ups, which cover the legs down to the socks and overlap under the jacket are allowed. (When in the en garde position, we should not be able to see a T-shirt).
Foil fencers in the novice foil event do not need a competitive mask. A basic epee mask (no lame' fabric) will be allowed. If using a competition foil mask, the mask cord is not required.
All fencers must submit a copy of the Gulf Coast Division waiver of liability/consent to treat form. Copies will be available at the venue.
You can also download and print your own from the Gulf Coast Division website's "forms" page: http://www.gulfcoastfencing.org/
Fencers under age 18 must have a parent's signature on this form.
