Venue Information: Los Angeles International Fencing Center 11755 W. Exposition Boulevard West Los Angeles, California 90064 Please note there are TWO Exposition Blvds. LAIFC is located at the corner of Granville and Exposition off of Olympic Blvd. Parking: Unfortunately, parking is limited. Please give yourselves enough time to park or drop off your fencer. While every attempt to contact neighboring business has been made, none have agreed to allow participants to park in their parking spaces. DO NOT park in the LA Ballet parking lot which is on the east side of the building. They will tow. Please note that the City of Los Angeles diligently enforces parking violations with ticketing and towing. Do not park in alleys, block cars and please pay the parking meters. LAIFC is not responsible for any illegal parking including parking in neighboring businesses. The Metro Expo line station is two blocks away Bundy and Olympic. Please consider car pooling, taking the Expo train, Lyft or Uber. For any questions regarding seeding and JO/JC qualification, please refer to the Athlete's Handbook on the USA Fencing website. It is the fencer�s responsibility to notify the Bout Committee of any registration discrepancies before the close of check-in for the event. (I.e. wrong club, wrong rating, misspelled name, etc.) Only information from the USA Fencing website will be used. Information on AskFRED is NOT official. TOURNAMENT Cost Information: Registration is not complete until payment is made. The regular fee registration period ends at 11:59pm PST on February 12, 2018. The double-fee registration ends at 11:59pm PST on February 20, 2018. Triple fee registration ends at 11:59pm PST on February 26, 2018. Due to the larger than anticipated number of entrants, there will be no registration at the door. Regular Period Registration fee: $30 Regular Period Fee per Event: $40 Double-Fee Period Registration fee: $60 Double-Fee Period Fee per Event: $80 Triple fee Period Registration fee: $90 Triple fee Period Fee per Event: $120 Registration fees will not be refunded. There are no exceptions. Prior to Feb. 19, 2018, 100% of the event fee will be refunded if the bout committee is contacted with a refund request. After Feb. 19, there will be no refunds of the event fee. Please make your registrations early to avoid complications. All refund requests will be responded to after the conclusion of the tournament. Eligibility is based on birth year, regardless of the specific day/month. After JOs 2018, birth years for the 2018-19 season will be used. Cadet: Born in 2002 through 2005 or on the Y14 NRPL Junior: Born in 1999 through 2005 or on the Cdt NRPL Uniform Requirements: All USA Fencing uniform requirements apply. This includes the mandatory use of knickers, long socks, and underarm protectors. Names are NOT required to be on the uniform. Equipment Check: Equipment check will be available on Fri. Mar. 2, starting at 3:00pm. The Armory Equipment Check will test the mask, lame (as appropriate), sabre cuffs, head cords, french grip epees and body cords. Items that have passed inspection will be specially marked, and directors will be checking for these marks prior to the start of fencing. Full Armory Equipment Check is required for all competitors, with no exceptions. Fencers only need to have their equipment passed once for the duration of the RJCC. Please note that event times listed are the close of registration. Fencers are required to be checked in by this time. Fencing will typically begin shortly after registration closes. It is recommended to leave yourself ample time for travel, check-in, and equipment check prior to the close of registration of your events. Fencers must check-in each day by close of registration of their event that day. Fencers are only permitted to fence in one event per day. Exceptions to this rule are at the discretion of the Bout Committee and Tournament Organizers. Important tournament information will be communicated through the FRED e-mail system.
