Registration & Event Fees ================================= Regular Fees entry deadline (Saturday August 12 11:59PM) - $30 registration plus $40 per event Double Fees (August 13 to August 19 11:59PM) - $60 registration fees plus $80 per event Triple Fees (August 20 to August 23 11:59PM) - $90 registration fees plus $120 per event Starting August 24th, 2017, no registration will be accepted through AskFRED. Walk-ins are permitted at the triple fee rate ($90 + $120) AND are subject to a $200 surcharge per the US Fencing RJCC guidelines ***Your registration is incomplete until payment is made via AskFRED.*** Fencers listed as "incomplete" arriving at check-in will be charged the walk-in fee. Walk-in entry is subject to space and approval by the Bout Committee. Refund Policy =========== - Registration fees are NON REFUNDABLE - Before Saturday, August 12th 2017 11:59PM: refund of event fees except AskFRED surcharges - After August 12th : No refund: No exception On tournament day, fencers who fail to check-in at the registration desk before the posted close of check-in time for their event will be withdrawn from the competition, and no there will be no refund of fees. Check-in and Equipment Check ============= Check-In at venue begins 8:00AM on Sat, and 8:00AM on Sunday. You will need to present: - Proof of US Fencing membership, FIE license, or foreign federation membership. If no membership provided, fencer has to complete and pay for US Fencing membership at the door. Please note that all memberships expire on July 31st, so if you have not renewed since July 31st you are not a current member. Full USFA regulation uniform is required to compete. • Uniforms (jacket, pants, knee-high socks, fencing glove): Standard fencing uniforms; cannot have any rips, tear, or holes. 800N Saber Glove is Mandatory. • Plastrons (underarm protectors) • Chest Protector: Required for women • Masks: 12K punch test; sewn in bib. Conductive Bib in foil is required. Elastic strap at back of mask is required • Blades: Must have at least two working weapons and two body cords / head cords when reporting to the strip. • Names on Uniforms: Not required. ===== Age Eligibility CADET: 2001-2004 JUNIOR: 1998-2004 Exception to Age Eligibility - Cadet (through JO's): A fencer born after 2004 can fence in Cadet local and regional competitions, NAC Cadet tournaments and Junior Olympic Cadet Fencing Championships and qualifying tournaments IF the fencer is on the National Youth 14 point standings at the time of the entry deadline for that tournament. - Junior (through JO's): A fencer born after 2004 can fence in Junior local and regional competitions, NAC Junior and Junior Olympic Junior Fencing Championships and qualifying tournaments IF the fencer is on the National Cadet point standings at the time of the entry deadline for that tournament. Ratings can be awarded. Cadet events must meet or exceed criteria in Group C1 or higher to award changes in classification. Please verify that your rating and points standing are correct with the USFA, and contact the National Office to resolve any discrepancies prior to the tournament. Fencer signature on pool score sheets and DE bout slip implies accuracy. Any mistakes in posted information throughout the tournament must be reported to the Bout Committee immediately (within 5 minutes of posting). There is NO trickle down for points at the Regional level. Points earned in a Regional Cadet or Junior tournament only appear in the category in which they were earned. There IS trickle down for QUALIFICATION at the Regional level. Therefore, if a fencer qualifies in an older age group and is age eligible for a younger age group, they earn qualification in that category as well. -------- About RJCC Tournaments: From US Fencing's Athlete Handbook (http://www.usfencing.org/athlete-handbook): Regional Junior/Cadet Circuit (RJCC): The RJCCs serve as one of the qualification paths for Junior Olympic Fencing Championships and the July Challenge. There are no national points awarded at RJCC competitions; please refer to Chapter 3 for more information on the Regional Point structure. The Regional Ranking Point System (RRPS) is a ranking program designed to recognize and reward both participation and accomplishment at the RJCC Tournament level. Regional Point Standings for Youth, Cadet and Junior reflect an athlete’s results at RYC and/or RJCC tournaments within their home region (based on division affiliation). These point standings are posted online and are updated within five business days after the tournament organizer has properly submitted results, event officials form, membership forms and paid the program service fee. These point standings are not used for seeding, only National Point Standings are used for seeding at regional tournaments. Fencers only earn points at RJCCs within their home region (region is assigned based on division affiliation). The best 2 results count towards the point total. These points may qualify Cadet and Junior fencers to the USA Fencing Junior Olympics and July Challenge. Points earned at Regional Junior/Cadet tournaments are not considered in determination of National Point Standings, for seeding or team selection purposes; they are only reflected in Regional Point Standings. Using the formula below, RJCC tournaments will award points to all participants: ((#entries – place +1) / # entries) x 100 points The winner of each RJCC, regardless of size of field, will earn 100 points. The size of the participant field is based on all athletes in the event, regardless of the region. Regional RJCC points are only earned in the fencers own region. The Cadet Regional Tournament is offered as part of the Regional Junior Cadet Circuit (RJCC). Regional Junior Circuit (RJC): The Junior Regional tournament is offered as part of the Regional Junior Cadet Circuit (RJCC). No national points are awarded; regional points are awarded to any competitor competing in their home region. Regional points are awarded based on the size of the competitive field. A. Eligibility (age, classification) Subject to the exceptions in Table 2.5.1, fencers must be at least 13 years old on 1 January in the year of the competition. Fencers younger than that must, as of the entry deadline, be on the Cadet national rolling point standings to be eligible. There are no classification requirements. Qualification: Cadet & Junior – Junior Olympic Fencing Championships The JOs are held each February on President’s weekend. A. Eligibility (age, classification) Subject to the exceptions in Table 2.5.1, fencers must be at least 13 years old on 1 January in the year of the competition. Fencers younger than that must, as of the regular fee entry deadline, be on the Y14 National Point Standings to be eligible for Cadet events or on the Cadet point standings to be eligible for Junior events. There are no classification requirements. Fencers must meet age requirements as above and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. When determining qualifications using top 25% on regional points lists or top 8 or top 16 respectively on National Rolling Point Standings, ONLY foreign fencers ARE skipped. B. Qualification CADET Fencers must meet eligibility AND Be on the Cadet National Rolling Point Standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR Be in the top 25% of their region’s Cadet Regional Circuit Point Standings at the regular fee entry deadline OR Be in the top 25% of their region’s Junior Regional Circuit point standings at the regular fee entry deadline OR Earn at least 110 regional points on either the Cadet or Junior Regional Point Standing OR Be in the top 8 of the Youth 14 national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR Be in the top 25% (round up) of their division’s Cadet JO qualifying competition OR Be in the top 25% (round up) of their division’s Junior JO qualifying competition. Junior event must occur first. JUNIOR Fencers must meet age eligibility AND Be on the Junior national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR Be in the top 16 of the Cadet national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR Top 25% on your region’s Junior RJCC Regional Point Standings OR Earn at least 110 regional points on the Junior Regional Point Standing OR Be in the top 25% (round up) of their division’s Junior JO qualifying competition Junior Qualification Path to July Challenge: • Fencers must meet age eligibility, AND • On Junior NRPS (Age out after JOs) by entry deadline, OR • On Cadet NRPS (Age out after JOs) OR • Be in the top 50% of your region’s Junior Regional Circuit Points, OR • Earn at least 65 regional points on the Junior Regional Point Standing OR • Be in the top 25% of the Youth 14 national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR • Foreign athletes who meet the USA Fencing classification standard of “A”, “B” as defined in the Section 2.2.5 Cadet Qualification Path to July Challenge: • Fencers must meet eligibility, AND • Be on Cadet NRPS (Age out after JOs), OR • Be in the top 50% of the Y14 national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline, OR • Be in the top 50% of your region’s Cadet Regional Circuit Points, OR • Top 50% of their region’s Junior Regional Circuit Points, OR • Earn at least 65 regional points on the Cadet or Junior Regional Point Standing, OR • Foreign athletes who meet the USA Fencing classification standard of “A”, “B” or “C” as defined in the Section 2.2.5 =========== Liability waiver - Upon entering this tournament you agree to abide by the current rules of USA Fencing and other applicable rules.
