Venue is Two Ravens Fencing School Qualifier for Junior Olympics in Kansas City, MO - February 17-20, 2017 All fencers must be preregistered and payment received in advance, there will be no entries or payments accepted at the door. The final date for preregistrations and payments is 12/11/2016. If a competitive field is 3 or fewer, the qualifying event will not be held and those with completed preregistations will be qualified. If an event will not be fenced, an email will be sent to the preregistants for that event. If any times change for events an email will be sent to all preregistrants. Preregistration closes on 12/11/2016. Athletes are permitted to fence in their Division qualifying competitions only IF: 1) The athlete is a U.S. citizen OR permanent resident and a current competitive member of USA FENCING with an expiration date of 7/31/2017 or later AND 2) The athlete is a member of that division AND 3) The athlete represents the United States in international competition AND 4) The athlete's birth year falls in that age bracket OR 5) The athlete is on the national rolling point standings in the next younger age bracket From the Athelete's Hanbook: 2.10.5.2 Cadet & Junior - Junior Olympic Fencing Championships The JOs are held each February on President’s weekend. A. Eligibility (age, classification, qualification) Subject to the exceptions in Table 2.5.1, fencers must be at least 13 years old by January 1 of the current season. Fencers younger than that must, as of the regular fee entry deadline, be on the Y14 point standings to be eligible for Cadet events or on the Cadet point standings to be eligible for Junior events. There are no classification requirements. Fencers must meet age requirements as above and be US Citizens or Permanent Residents. C. Qualification CADET  Fencers must meet age eligibility AND  Be on the Cadet national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR  Be in the top 25% of their region’s Cadet Regional Circuit point standings at the regular fee entry deadline OR  Be in the top 25% of their region’s Junior Regional Circuit point standings at the regular fee entry deadline OR  Be in the top 8 of the Youth 14 national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR  Be in the top 25% (round up) of their Division’s Cadet JO qualifying competition OR  Be in the top 25% (round up) of their Division’s Junior JO qualifying competition. Junior event must occur first. JUNIOR  Fencers must meet age eligibility AND  Be on the Junior national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR  Be in the top 16 of the Cadet national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR  Top 25% on your region’s Junior RJCC Regional Points Standings OR  Be in the top 25% (round up) of their Division’s Junior JO qualifying competition
