ARK-LA-MISS JUNIOR OLYMPIC QUALIFIER for the 2017 Junior Olympics to be held in Kansas City, MO (http://www.usfencing.org/2017-junior-olympics). Limited to U.S. Citizens/Permanent Residents of appropriate age with current competitive membership in the Ark-La-Miss division and have represented only the USA in competitions. Fees: (online Pre-payment remains unavailable) Fees if pre-registered on FRED BEFORE midnight on Wednesday, Nov 16: *** PLEASE NOTE: pre-registering for this event before the Nov 16 deadline will ensure that you will pay the lowest fees amounts when you get to the event. All fees will be paid when you check in on the day of your events. Please pre-register even if you think you might be fencing. If you end up unable to make it to the tournament, you will not be required to pay fees. $30.00 - One time Registration Fee $10.00 - cost of each event you fence Fees beginning on Thursday, Nov 17 through the days of the events (walk-up registration): $40.00 - One time Registration Fee $15.00 - cost of each event you fence Forms of payment taken at the event: Cash Checks (made payable to Ark-La-Miss Division) When pre-registering online, your name may not be approved immediately. The following equipment will be tested prior to fencing: Masks Lames Gloves (all weapons) Body Cords / Mask Cords Preregistration opens on 10/22/2016. Preregistration closes on 11/18/2016. ------------------------------------------------------- Official proof of current USFA and Ark-La-Miss Division membership is required NO EXCEPTIONS. Fencers will be PRE-CHECKED for USFA Membership with pre-registration and notified via http://www.askfred.net email if not current. If USFA membership is not shown in the current USFA database, an e-mail or FAX from USFA will be needed confirming status of: • Current competitive membership in the Ark-La-Miss Division • Citizenship status • Primary club • Date of birth • Sex If that is not provided, a new membership form and payment will be required (membership forms for minors require the signature of a parent or legal guardian, the coach may not sign, except of course for his own child.). Be prepared to show birth certificate if you are acquiring a new membership. Receipts from clubs or other tournaments are not acceptable, as these membership forms may not have been submitted. Membership forms will be available at the venue but it is preferred that the form be downloaded, printed and completed prior to check-in. Form is located here: http://www.usfencing.org/page/show/699332-forms Payment for individual memberships is made directly to the USFA either by credit card (preferred) or check. USFA Membership can also be purchased online (https://www.railstation.org/usfencing/MembershipRegistration.aspx). Please bring separate check (or cash) for tournament fees. All participants should download the WAIVER OF LIABILITY and CONSENT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT FORM from the Division website (http://almdiv.org/Operations/WAIVERS/waiverconsent.pdf) or obtain a copy from their coach. Have a parent or guardian sign the form, and bring the signed form to check- in the tournament. NO ONE MAY FENCE WITHOUT THESE DOCUMENTS. Participants are required to fence in proper fencing attire; current USFA rules will apply. (This includes the latest added area to the foil mask bib, correct placement of the lame tab for mask to lame cord, and gloves that have the proper closure near the wrist.) New 2016-2017 saber rules changes (enguard lines and new timing on electrical machines) will be enforced during these events. Junior Olympics is a NATIONAL championship; the qualifying path to the Junior Olympics requires participants to be either U.S. citizens or permanent residents. USFA provides the division secretary with this information. If you have not received your USFA membership card and apply for the card at the competition, please be prepared to show verification of citizenship status. Cadet events will not be rated unless they meet or exceed the criteria for a C1 event. Junior events will be rated according to latest classification chart.
