Age Requirements for 2016-2017 season: Y10: Birth years of 2006 - 2009 Y12: Birth years of 2004 - 2007 Y14: Birth years of 2002 – 2005 PLEASE! Do not register if you do not fall within these age categories. You will not be allowed to fence and we will not refund your entry fees. If you are too young and have NATIONAL points which would qualify you to fence in an older age category please notify the organizer. Reminder: High school memberships are not valid. You must be a competitive USFA member or current member of a foreign federation if not a US citizen or permanent resident. Awards to top 8. If you can not stay for award presentation, have someone pick up the medal. No medals will be given out before the award presentation. Regular online registration period runs through March 18, 2017. $30 Registration plus $25 per event Fencers not registered by March 18 will pay late fees. Preregistration without payment does not constitute valid registration. We are not responsible for any inability to register on askfred. In order to avoid any problems, we encourage you not to wait until the last minute to register. There will be no late fee exemptions for any reason. Entry fees: Until March 18 $30 registration plus $25 per event From March 19 to March 25, 2017, DOUBLE FEES $60 registration plus $50 per event From March 26 to April 1, 2017, TRIPLE FEES $90 registration plus $75 per event Final Pre-registration will close at midnight April 1, 2017. After April 1, no registration will be accepted through AskFRED. Additional entries will be walkins and Walkin fee is $365 for one event; $440 for two; all competitors must have appropriate paperwork. REFUNDS - For refund of event fee(s), withdrawals must be received in writing no later than March 20. Registration fees are nonrefundable. Refunds will be processed no later than 4-6 weeks following the tournament. IN ORDER TO COMPETE YOU MUST CHECK-IN BEFORE THE LISTED DEADLINE WITH THE FOLLOWING: 1) a COMPETITIVE USA Fencing membership card (valid for the current competitive season); AND 2) the fencer is required to provide a fully-completed waiver form that has been signed by a parent or legal guardian; AND 3) the fencer is required to show a birth-certificate (copy acceptable) or other government-issued identification showing a birth date unless officially verified by USFA. To help us speed registration, please have all this paperwork ready at checkin. This is especially critical if the fencer does not have a parent/guardian accompanying them. No one will be allowed to fence without a signed waiver form. Waivers will be available on the who's coming page and can be downloaded for your convenience and and will also have copies be onsite for signature. Events WILL be mixed if less than 5 competitors in M/W events (i.e., Y10 M/W foil may be mixed). Mixed events will only occur within age category. Event times are approximate; they could change depending on number of entries. Important tournament information, including any close of check-in time changes, will be communicated through the FRED e-mail system. Be sure your e-mail address is up-to-date. Visit askfred.net then go to "My FRED" to verify your current e-mail address. Please be aware that athletes that do not check in on time for their event will be scratched. NO EXCEPTIONS FOR ANY REASON. We will not hold an event because you are running late. Be at the venue 1/2 hour to 1 hour before your close of registration. Allow time for traffic, weapons check, and any other unexpected issues. All times listed are close of check-in, and are subject to change. Time change notifications will be sent through the FRED e-mail system and posted on this tournament home page. If you have entered the parking lot, and need to get to the lot on Everett St. go around the building and go left out of the back lot. The Everett St lot is on the left before the traffic lights. Also, overflow parking is available in the shopping center directly across the street. FOOD Snacks, water, soft and sport drinks, coffee, etc. is available on site. Restaurants and sandwich shops are within walking distance and there is a full service grocery store across the street. Refund requests can later be made with USA Fencing as appropriate. Equipment check will be open at 9:00 am on April 8 and 7:00 am on April 9. Equipment check will test the mask, foil mask bib, lame jacket, glove, mask and body cords. AS OF AUGUST 1, 2012, CONDUCTIVE BIBS ARE REQUIRED IN ALL FOIL EVENTS EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS AND INSPECTIONS Y10 fencers must fence with weapons NO LONGER than 32.5 inches.
