Mid-South Fencers' Club Priority on Youth #5

The MSFC Annual Priority on Youth Series for the 2015-2016 competitive season kicks off on September 13. These tournaments are designed to promote positive competition, learning, and love of this amazing sport. Atmosphere is fun and friendly, USFA membership required. Entry fees are $25 first event, $15 second. Who should attend? Priority on Youth tournaments are a great way for young fencers to begin to experience the feeling of fencing competition. Mid-South members as well as fencers in our Pre-competitive level classes are strongly encouraged to participate. We welcome fencers from other clubs, and regularly have folks from the region attend. Required Equipment Full tournament gear is required including fencing pants, under arm protectors, and long socks. Electric equipment is available for rental for $30 for the day. Priority on Youth Points List Participants will earn points throughout the tournament series based on their results. Athletes who compete in 5 out of the 7 tournament dates will be eligible to select from a variety of awesome prizes at our end of season Finale' celebration on May 22, 2016. The new event schedule is: 10:00am Youth 10 Saber 11:30am Youth 14 Saber 1:00pm Youth 12 Saber 2:30pm Junior Mixed Saber Ages for Events USA Fencing uses birth year to determine age eligibility for specific events. Youth 10: Birth years 2005-2008 Youth 12: Birth years 2003-2006 Youth 14: Birth years 2001-2004 Cadet: Birth years 1999-2002 Juniors: Birth years 1996-2002 Senior Mixed Open: 2002 or earlier Parking Info The best place to park is the pay lot at Bright Leaf Square at the intersection of Main Street and Gregson Street. Parking is usually around 5 dollars, and most times is free on the weekends. Please use the small parking lot in front of the club for fencer pick up and drop off only.
