The Great Salt Lake Fencing Open 2016 Go to: www.greatsaltlakefencing.com for complete information. Individual Fees: $35 plus $20 per event if paid by March 5 on askfred.net $45 plus $20 per event if paid by April 1 on askfred.net $55 plus $20 per event if paid by May 1 on askfred.net $65 plus $20 per event if paid on askfred.net or at the door Individual events with less than 6 entries as of midnight on June 3 will be cancelled. Awards Medals will be awarded to the top 8 finishers in each event with 12 or more competitors. Medals will be awarded to the top 4 finishers in events with 11 or less competitors. FenceAthlon All fencers who enter all 3 open events (foil, epee and saber) on Saturday, June 7, are automatically entered into the FenceAthlon event. Points will be awarded to fencers in each event based on their finish. The top 4 fencers will then face-off in a direct elimination table where each athlete will fence each weapon within a relay style match. All the official rules for the FenceAthlon will be posted in coming weeks. In addition to the FenceAthlon trophy, the winner will received a $1,000 in cash and/or gift certificates. The runner-up will receive a $500 gift certificate with the third place finishers receiving $300 gift certificates. US Fencing Membership All fencers entering sanctioned events must be current competitive members Untied States Fencing. All fencers entering non-sanctioned events must be current members of United States Fencing. Directors While we will to have 8 designated directors, but it should be understood that some pools and early round direct matches may require qualified fencers and coaches to help direct. Some t-shirts will be available at the tournament for $20 each. Refunds Refunds, minus $15, will be given until May 10. Full refunds will be given for canceled events. All refunds will be sent out by June 17. Preregistration opens on 02/05/2016. Preregistration closes on 06/3/2016.
