Novice High School/Middle School Sabre & Foil

Novice Challenge for High School and Middle School  These events are for High School and Middle School fencers who started fencing 2014-15 or 2015-16 seasons. We aim to give new fencers a fun and educational experience in the first step of their competitive fencing career. UNRATED FENCERS ONLY!!! Only positive cheering and helpful comments will be allowed. All coaches and parents are encouraged to help ALL FENCERS not just their own. Helpfulness and a positive attitude is a must.    Requirements:  * USFA Membership  * Working equipment including 2 weapons, 2 body cords  and 2 mask cords.  * Plastron   * Fencing knickers.No baseball, football or sweats allowed We will separate High School and Middle School fencer if possible. Any event with less than 6 entries will be mixed into their counterpart. (Example.4 Middle School Men’s Sabre fencers will be mixed into the 10 High School Men’s Sabre for a 14 person tournament.)   Medals:  Awarded to the top 4 finishers in each event.   Format:  2 rounds of pools followed by direct elimination to the end. Please bring school sweats for pictures. Fees: $15 per event if preregister through askfred.net or $20 at the door.
