Prescott Fall Classic 2015

Fencers must show proof of a USFA membership for the 2015 - 2016 season in the form of a current USFA membership card or a letter from the USFA office. Membership application/renewal forms will be available at the venue. If no proof of membership is presented, and the membership cannot be otherwise verified, the fencer will be required to fill out a new registration form and submit payment (which will be refunded or cancelled as soon as membership is verified with the USFA national office). International fencers are welcome upon presentation of a copy of an FIE License or a proof of membership in another national federation (please bring one of these items with you). Events Scheduled: These are the events that we have scheduled and each event's respective close of registration. Saturday: Open Foil - 10:00 AM Y10/Y12 Sabre - 11:00 AM Cadet Sabre - 11:00 AM Y12/Y14 Foil - 1:00 PM Open Sabre - 1:00 PM Junior Foil - 3:30 PM Junior Sabre - 3:30 PM Sunday: Open Epee - 9:00 AM Y12/Y14 Epee - 11:00 AM Women's Epee - 12:30 PM Junior Epee - 1:30 PM Open Team Epee - 3:30 PM Other details: Registration at the door and check-in will open at approximately 9:30 AM on Saturday and 8:30 AM on Sunday. Events with fewer than six fencers preregistered may be cancelled at the organizers' discretion. The event format for all events will be one round of pools with 100% promotion to a direct elimination table. The initial seeding for all events will be based on rating and year. Youth fencers will fence together. Fencers born between 2005 and 2008 are classified as Y10 fencers, fencers born between 2003 and 2006 are classified as Y12 fencers, and fencers born between 2001 and 2004 are classified as Y14 fencers. Medals will be awarded to Y10, Y12, and Y14 fencers separately. Please note that conductive bibs and associated equipment are required for all foil events. Also please note that due to scheduling concerns, the Open Epee Team event will be limited to a total of eight teams. Please register early to ensure your spot in this event. Finally, please ensure that your mask complies with the new requirements for retention devices. Equipment check will consist of a visual inspection and 12kg punch test for masks, lamé conductivity test, sabre glove conductivity test, body cord test, and glove inspection to be conducted prior to the start of the event. Weapons will be checked at the strip. Foil and epee weapons will be subjected to the 500g and 750g weight tests respectively, and epee weapons will be subjected to the point travel tests. Fencers who present non-working or untested equipment to the referee at the strip will receive the appropriate penalty card. In consideration of the fencers traveling long distances, registration will close promptly at the times listed. Please plan to be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the close of registration for your event. Preregistration will close at midnight on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015.
