2015 AFC Austin Challenge

Events Scheduled: Y10 Mixed Foil Y12 Mixed Foil Y14 Mixed Foil Senior Mixed Foil Preregistration opens on 04/19/2015. Preregistration closes on 5/26/2015. VENUE: The Red River Church is located at the corner of Red River and 45th Street Austin, TX. The gym is the two story building in the corner of the large parking lot. The entrance to the parking lot is on 45th Street. WAIVER: Please download and complete the waiver (see link near top of page) and bring it with you to the competition. FEES: $20 PREPAID Registration $30 Registration at the door $10 Per weapon For payments at the door: No Credit or Debit cards accepted, only cash or check at the venue. Please make checks payable to Austin Fencers Club. USFA memberships are made by separate checks or credit card. Saturday: 9:00 - Youth 12 Mixed Foil (awards to top 4) 11:30 - Youth 14 Mixed Foil (awards to top 4) 1:00 - Youth 10 Mixed Foil (awards to top 8) 2:30 - Senior Mixed Foil (awards to top 4) AWARDS: Medals will be awarded to the top 8 in Y10 events. Medals will be awarded to the top 4 in Y12, Y14, and Open Mixed events. (Awards are not gender based) FOIL EVENTS: The Conductive Foil bib is required for all foil events. Fencers will not be allowed to participate in foil events without a conductive bib that passes inspection. FORMAT FOR Y10 AND Y12: AFC's Fall Fencing will follow the new USFA formats for Y10 and Y12 events: 1) Y10 direct elimination bouts are for 10 hits or end when two periods of three minutes, with a one-minute rest between each period, have passed. The first period ends either at the expiration of three minutes or when 5 hits are scored, whichever comes first. 2) Y12 direct elimination bouts are for 15 hits or end when 3 periods of three minutes, with a one-minute rest between each period have passed. The rules for handling ties in score at the end of regulation, awarding of cards and non-combativity will apply as currently written. There will be no exceptions made in Y10 or Y12 DE bouts.
